do you really give a fuck if

everyone you are friends with likes each other?

its an obvious fact that lots of people hate each other in this business. well, let me present this to you. if you have the personality where you openly tolerate all forms of idiocy for the greater good of the mission. should you really care, or take sides when people spew their differences in a public forum. and, when they do, do you think it is fair that people expect you to choose a side?

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 07-16-2005 04:07 PM

Maybe you should discern what friends are vs. Business associates:)

Confusing the two will fuck you everytime.
Failure to connect the dots and not summarizing in your own head to make a judgement is simply naive.

You might want to call someone a friend or keep the peace but in your mind the enigma shines bright about what others have done.

Be ignorant to the facts and you make your own self vulnerable.

Ramos 07-16-2005 04:07 PM

Who's side did they ask you to choose?

p.s. :) this has nothing to do with aaron m and alien. just a random thought thrown in with my earlier thread on A.D.D. and O.C.D. which i possess both of.

i am in a less than vulnerable state right now. things are great. and, speaking of aaron m and alien, why the fuck did neither one of you show to the BUMP n' GRIND party in san diego.

i was sad. :(

anyhow, i guarantee you no one in adult will miss the bump n grind in vegas. just fucking wait. more loot than 1000 sailors could spend at a whorehouse in the phillipines is going into this next show.

I just wish you the best Airek.
I helped ya when ya needed it. I call you a friend. I did it because I know you got a good heart and I also know you have done nothing that is worthy of being judged in a negative way.

But since you struck such a curious thread thought i would give you my fair answer.

I do not trust people, NO man, no woman entirelly with uncompromised love, and the ones I call friends I do the friend thing first with them, then move to business.

I call you a friend Aerik I stepped forward and offered it and this makes good things happen between you and me down the road. Ya not ever let me down.

Jace 07-16-2005 04:20 PM

no, i could care less...if two people have a problem with each other, that is their troubles, not mine

and if I am hangin with someone, don't make me play the take sides game, or I will just leave both people all together

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 07-16-2005 04:22 PM

I am very judgemental and will take sides when I got facts.

It saves me alot of trouble down the ways of mis aligning with people or surrounding myself with the wrong elements.

Agreed. I try my best to stay out of other peoples beefs.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 07-16-2005 04:24 PM

People talk, and people talk shit in this biz, thats a gurantee.

Get the facts and make your own judgement.

If ya do not ya being ignorant in my opinion and potentially hurting your reputation, and ultimatly making yourself vulnerable.
I am not popular, but I what I am is honest and I surround myself with honest folks. Its paid off big time in not only monetary gain but peace of mind with those I do sit with and deal with.

I am my own person, so I do what I feel is right. I'll stay out of their beef, but after I hear both sides I'll make up my mind on whether I want to be as close of a friend or business associate, depending on how bad someones fuck up is.

But I don't believe 100% of what I hear unless it comes from a very close, reliable friend/source. So keep and open mind, don't ever rush to judgement in these scenerios and stay out of their problems if it doesn't concern you.

Then, make both them yo bitches and get their traffic. Take all their joins.

seeric 07-16-2005 05:01 PM

i just opened a damn can o worms without tryin. i support people who support me. i don't give a shit if they like each other. never have, never will. my heart revolves around art and entertainment and thats where it stays. entertainment and cultural advancement. both alien and aaron have supported me in the past, present and future and i value them both. jace as well. we share a common bond of expression which no one can tread on. i will continue to better teh musical expression and majority by focusing on positive impact and musical presentation to the masses. this thread was originally started about unrelated circumstances behind the scenes that i, of course, have been dragged into inadvertantly, thorugh mutual friends that decided to do business together and couldn't get along.

i will tell everyone this. no one will stand in my way when it comes to bring the level of entertainment that i have lined up for the next 2 years +. A List artists cost mad money, (mad sponorship money, and or, mad program money). i would never let individual harrassments affect a show that thousands of people will see. ultimately, there is a common goal that we are all seeking, and that bond to achieve it is music and socialism. we aim to create those environments, unequivocably, and without consideration to anything going on between parties that may be in attendance at the same time. it is my goal to bring people back together that may not see eye to eye on things through the power of entertainment.

i didn't mean for this to become a part of another thread that was going on at the same time. i do however, mean for it to let people know where i stand, and make it an impression in their mind.

i love everyone. i don't have one enemy in this biz, and i don't intend to ever have any.

you are all great and powerful to me.

bless.

It's a tough line to walk, brother, but I'd say you're walking it. I try to be the same way. It really just comes down to a few simple guidelines.

Here's an example: Let's say you and I just met at a show, we like each other, we're kickin' it, all is good. A friend of mine walks into the room, but doesn't see me and you in the corner talking. You look at him, not knowing him to be my friend, and say "That guys an asshole. I hate him."

I would say (and this is the tricky part):

"Why is that? Joe is a friend of mine. Why don't you tell me what happened?"

Consider what you've done:

1. You have made your new friend aware that the person he has just insulted is your friend, but you have not over-reacted.

2. By telling your new friend that the person he dslikes is a friend of yours BEFORE you ask him what happened, you show that you are honest, and that you don't lead people into scenarios where they are giving up information without having all the facts.

3. By asking him "what happened" without jumping to your friend's defense, you show that you are capable of being both loyal and objective.

Think how easy, then, after you heard what happened to know what to do, and to keep your integrity intact. At the end of the conversation with my new friend I am going to walk up to my old friend either by myself, if I feel the information I received is credible or best dealt with privately, in which case I would tell him where I heard it, OR, if my new friend has made a mistake or his feelings about my old friend are not based on anything very important, I could walk over to my old friend, with my new friend and help make amends. It's so easy isn't it?

The trouble is people are sometimes very basic and very afraid. They think you can't have multiple friends and be true and honest to all, they are jealous and insecure. This is why it's more lilely that people try to build new allegiances based on common hate -- more on that subject >>> X.

It is convenient and relatively easy to kid ourselves that if we don't actively take sides, we are not taking sides at all, but that is rarely the case. The only circumstances in which it can really be true is if two people are having an argument in which neither is gaining the upper hand. In most situations, someone is in a dominant position and not taking sides in effect means you are siding with that person.

I assume that by "people", in this context you mean friends or at least acquaintances who are potentially friends. Of course it isn't "fair", but it's inevitable that such situations will arise and what value do you have as a person, let alone a friend, if you aren't willing to get involved? Come to that, what is a friendship worth if it can only survive providing you don't express your opinions?
