Anybody here can help networking 2 identical laptops ?

Hi..

A friend of mine just gave me two old Dell Lattitude Laptops.. I did reinstalled Win 2Kpro and they work very great for the needs I have for them..

Now I am tryin to connect them with a "twisted" network cable but it doesn't work...

One on my main problem to start with is that I can't share the drive on one of the machines. I right click on the drive but the "share" option is simply not there... Knowing why I don't have that would be a good start :)

Maybe I'll need some more help later, If anybody could guide me by ICQ, it would be greatly appreciated ($) :winkwink:

txs forward

That cable is called a "crossover cable".

And you might want to check out the properties of your network connection and see if the "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" service is installed. Without this service, you won't be able to share folders on your computer.
