You have DSL? How'd your install go?

Just wondering. Mine's turning into the horror story from hell.

If it went well, please leave my thread. I don't like you.

If it went crappy who's your DSL provider and what happened? Let's commiserate.

I've been waiting for over a month to get my equipment from SouthwesternBell, I called them Thurs. and they said it was delivered, after about a hour on the phone with a half a dozen different morons, I got a guy to resend the equipment...So, hopefully I'll get it tomorrow...

My cable modem has been a nightmare. It took 2-3 weeks before it worked for first time after installation. I've had to call tech support at least once a week for several months now and have had to take off from my day job 6 times to meet the line techs at my house. Of course, when it does work it is very good.
I was thinking of switching to dsl when it becomes available to me. Now I'm not sure about that.

Had a cable modem a few years ago and loved it, took it for granted actually. I moved a year and a half ago and the only high speed that was available was DSL. That was a headache to install(took 70 days from when I placed the order before I was online) and contines to be a headache. My connection goes down for 10 minutes a few times a day and i s VERY annoying. The qwest support sucks.

I feel your pain...

I waited 1 year for dsl to be available AFTER I PAYED the first 6 months... then I waited 1 month for the dsl modem.

as I got it, plugged it in, installed it in 10 mins and it works very well I have to say :)

70 days is starting to sound almost right.

The support sucking is right on, only I have SBC/SNET. They sent the wrong cable twice (they sent a phone cable instead of an ethernet cable), and the third time I had to describe to them what an ethernet cable actually looks like to make sure I got the right.

And that was the high point of my talks with support so far...

Let's go drinking. :) Booze and strippers always solves everything.
