Although Adolph Hitler adopted that symbol in 1920 and destroyed its true meaning it the history as you call it of the swastika dates back much further and has more peaceful connections. He looks indian so that symbol means something completely different to him and his culture. If anyone is interested in a good short informative read check this out.

Here's a left handled swastika in a circle on a red background. Its on a Buddhist temple in Korea. You make a point about the 45 degree angle, though. I guess one out of four isn't that bad.

first of all, the svastika is mostly hinduist, although it is also used in buddhism. buddhist svastikas outside of india are now 'sauvastikas', ie left-facing. in hidnduism, svastikas look different (they are usually accompanied by dots). in any case, the 45 degree one is a nazi symbol, no doubt about it.

youre an idiot. the christian cross derives its symbolism from the kind of object it depicts, namely a cross. the svastika derives its symbolism from the way it *looks* - thats why a svastika is a symbol of good and a reversed svastika (sauvastika) is a symbol of evil in hinduism.

That's not unique to swastikas (or however you want to spell it) or hinduism. Reversing a "good" symbol often results in an "evil" symbol. In Christianity the cross is a symbol of God/Jesus and the inverted cross is often a symbol of Satan (or St. Peter).
