Size of US/European porn industry?
 

Ok guys, help me out. I'm writing a business case and having a helluva time finding anything that estimates the number of adult companies in the US/Europe (or even the US would be fine)

I'm talking more about sites that are mid sized or better, do some decent sales. Not a few people taking pictures of themselves in their basement :) The kind of company that could have an affiliate program if they wanted to.

Also, a rough guess on how many SITES there are. I know these numbers are all unconfirmable and pretty random, but your best guesses woudl be appreciated.

Does the size of the total porn industry matter? I'd hate to rely on that for any valid biz model and words like "if we managed to secure 0.25 of that market" type of bullshit :-)

Seriously colpanic - it's more than any banker or even us would think. Even individual companies who are not known as "big names" earn more than ya would ever guess.

Well no, the raw number doesn't.. but since we sell software to adult companies, the number that exist who could afford to buy our stuff surely does matter :)

What do you prefer I base my biz model on? (seriously, I'm open to better suggestions)
