I was, but I don't have any of it :) I doubt I'll ever get it - my mother will donate everything to the church.

I would say I came from an upper-middle class, my dad made $150,000 a year he was a director of a VA hospital.

There's no money running through these veins... I was raised by a single working mother.

my family started out with nothing as we were refugees in a camp in Thailand but my dad built a fortune thru investments and properties and now restaurants and resorts.
I never got spoiled and hadto work my ass off for anything and prolly won't get any of the fortune. Apparently my kids will get it ...that's if I ever have any. :)

mostly middle class while my dad worked for US Steel, then when Reagan fucked the steelworkers, the town went pretty much bankrupt and my sister and I had to end up being raised by a divorced mother who worked two jobs to make ends meet and a father who could barely afford to take care of himself much less pay very much in the way of child support...

...but I was raised to respect and appreciate I had and make do the best we could. I also learned the importance of family and how strong family ties could get you through tougher times. It also taught me to be frugal with my spending and now at 35 with 4 kids of my own, I am still a tightwad ;-)

My dad is currently a Human Resource Manager at a VA Hospital. :thumbsup

I grew up pretty much stuck in middle class. My father was in the Air Force for 30 years and my mother didn't work. We (family of 5) pretty much lived off of $55,000 - $65,000 a year. I have never been poor other than the time I spent in college but I always knew that I had my parents to fall back on if times got too rough.

I find that most people that were raised in lower to middle class work much harder and appreciate what they have a lot more.

well I am not. my parents are expecting me to initiate the wealth for the family. SUCKS!

I just came from an average earning family. My parents are expecting me to be a better earner than them.

Both my parents are doctors. My dad is a psychiatrist and worked for the VA for years. They are both rich. But I grew up thinking we were poor and I had make my own clothes, etc. I appreciate everything I have and worked hard for it, nothing was given to me. I probably will never see any of the inheritance.

You know how some people are filthy rich, and others are independently wealthy? Well, I'm independently filthy.
