I used to have a bunch of friends that worked for the Highway Patrol and local police dept. I took my girlfriend out to a nice dinner and then told her that I wanted to go for a walk out by the lake. It was a beautiful night. About 10:00 PM and still 80 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Just as we entered the park where the lake was at, I had arranged to have a good friend who was (and still is) a trooper stop me. It was supposed to be just him, but he had arranged for "backup". There were 6 patrol cars and probably 10 cops. They surrounded my car and ordered us out at gunpoint. As we we're getting out, I told her not to worry. I was the one they were after. They ordered us both to the middle of the road and then said "Driver, get on your knees" and I popped the question.

Too bad I wasted a good proposal on that whore.

Ahhh, and I really hoped for a happy ending...
