I think people were reacting to the posts that you made

Not having universal healthcare really takes a toll on the middle class...if something bad happens you can lose your $500,000 house, your car, everything. Oh & bush passed a new law saying you can't declare bankruptcy based on medical bills. But fuck him,

If the doctor refers me to the emergency room then the auto insurance should pay for it. Otherwise anyone in canada feel like having me up for a friendly visit?
Quote:

Not having insurance can ruin your credit, i'm not worried about payment plants etc., but things like MRI's & private surgeries get sent to collection agencies, & i want to be able to buy a house in florida this fall.

And i can't keep my fucking leg propped up for 2 months, i've got to work!

It's a catch 22........god i hate our medical system!!!!

And try getting time missed from work when your self employed. I'll have to send them in my quarterlys.
It sounded a little bit like you were whining that you hadn't bothered to get insurance, and somehow that was the governments fault, and everybody else should pay for your treatment with their taxes... :2 cents:

Furious_Female 07-12-2005 02:16 PM

pr0 pays taxes too... so it's not 'THEIR' tax money, it's his as well.

Hardlinks 07-12-2005 02:18 PM

Yes, what a fuckhead move that post was.

I was awake this morning when you were posting and didnt get ANY TYPE of bad impression or impression of you looking for mercy.

Lack of class on his part.

smack 07-12-2005 02:19 PM

the government really should look into universal healthcare seriously though. in my opinion, the government is here to insure the happiness and well being of the people of the country.

well, what better way to protect their well being and happiness than to provide them with healthcare.

I dropped my insurance 2 months ago because it was COBRA & cost about $800 a month, & i was in great health...and in search of new insurance.

Then why doesn't he use his money to get insurance? If he has a $500,000 house and a nice car and is looking to buy another house in Florida, then it's not my fault that he decides not to get insurance, and it isn't the fault of the "medical system"

You actually posted your business on this board. When I want things private, (which is most things in my life), then I don't post them on chatboards. I only discuss them with people that I wish involved.

I love that the only thing that I put on this thread was based on the posts that YOU MADE ON A CHATBOARD, and you tell me to stay out of your business... :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

I don't think anyone intelligent misunderstood what you said, it's clear that you weren't asking for a handout. There are always some assholes on GFY but nobody takes them seriously anyway.

Important lesson for next time: make sure always to keep your old insurance until you've found a new one :winkwink:

Thanks! I'm sure that he's a nice guy, but if he doesn't want people discussing his business, he shouldn't post it! :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

P.S. I never said that I thought he was asking for handouts..... read my posts.

EroticySteve 07-12-2005 02:25 PM

I think that if out of pocket healthcare were more affordable Insurance wouldn't be as big of a neccessity as it is. However, health care costs, partially as a result of insurance are outrageous. The reason you pay $10 for a pill of OTC painkiller is because the Insurance company will pay that fee. As a result, you aren't allowed to pay less or it would be insurance fraud on the part of the hospital to charge the insurance company more than you.

If health care costs were standardized and done at a book rate, things would be much easier to plan for.

For example.

Broken arm: $500
Broken leg: $500
Torn ACL: $1000
Tonsilectomy $350

However, everyone gets a piece of the pie and no one wants a smaller piece so you've got to make the pie bigger.
