I will pay your medical bill if you get to the doctors now. All you have to do is make post saying how being an American does not have the priviledges of Canda or Britain due to the American governement hating its people and making them pay for health care.

Yes it is
It's not worse
In the same breath you say we're lazy fucks who can't afford health insurance and you say our taxes are huge. If we can afford huge taxes then which is it? Are we broke or are we paying high taxes?

Our system is supported by our taxes, but from the perspective of Canadians I can assure you if I were to walk into the ER of the nearest hospital this morning and complain of chest pain two things would happen. First, I would be taken in right away, I would be given a battery of tests and treatments, and I wouldn't be sent home until they are sure I am fit to do so. Secondly, there would be no bill. No $20k, no 20% of the bill payable by me, no nothing except a well-wish and a goodbye mr Smith.

Some of you Americans who are idiots really have a boned up view on what amounts to a pretty great thing in Canada, the UK and a few other countries. The really stupid thing here is that you'll return to this thread and actually argue with me, a Canadian, about a system you obviously have never even experienced first-hand. :1orglaugh

I'm guessing you've never studied economics, because that statement was meaningless.

CDSmith 07-12-2005 06:39 AM

And that whole "your tases are way higher" is bullshit too. The amount of taxes we pay each year isn't all that much more than anyone else. It's all the same, tax-wise. You pay your 30 or 40% depending on your income, we pay our 30 or 40% depending on our income. Your tax money went towards building the nicest highway system and the most well-equipped armed forces in the world, ours went towards building us a great health care system.

Get over it.

Relish XXX 07-12-2005 06:41 AM

CDSmith, the guy we are arguing with wont stop as they dont have a free education system either.

we have free healthcare here in california for the poor. this small % of californias overall population already clogs the emergency rooms with bullshit, im sure canada is the same. anytime somethings "free" its abused, and usually not by the people who pay the most into it.

so you have it for the poor. I dont have health insurance or anything like that. You have pr0 crying his eyes out going to GFY for medical advise because he cant afford to go to the doctors tonight.

Do you know Iraq had a free medical system before America invaded? Wondered why they are pissed.

wjxxx 07-12-2005 07:02 AM

It`s not free. You`re paying for "free" health care every day.

MickeyG 07-12-2005 07:03 AM

I'd rather pay for quality care rather then get second rate healthcare for free.

i said its only good for lazy fucks. i probably spend less per month on insurance then the avg canadian gfyer spends on weed in a weekend. your health care is not free, its taken from taxes. i wouldnt bother posting if idiots like relish didnt brag about how its FREE. you're right on one part though, ive never experienced it before. atleast not in canada. if i quit my job or hide my income, i COULD get free health care here in california, and anytime i needed treatment i could just drive down to the emergency room and walk out with NO BILL. ive experienced that part though, walking in with a cut on my forehead from getting hit by a 2x4, getting a once over to make sure its not life threatening, then waiting behind 25 mexican families whos kids have colds and need free cough syrup. the problem with a free system is people abuse it. this is probably the biggest reason it wont happen anytime soon in the us. we already have a generation of lazy fucks who thinks the world owes them a handout, a job, and everything else they may want.

Right there is where you make your mistake. Assuming is almost always an unwise thing to do.

Sure there are idiots who head to the ER for non-emergency reasons, but those are the ones who are made to wait the longest. It's called doing proper triage. They are free to head on over to the walk-in clinic for their lower priority ailments where their visit is again free.

Comparing Canada to the situation in California is never going to wash in this argument. The examples are just too different, like comparing apples to... spark plugs.

Saying that medical care is free in Canada is not entirely true since some people (those who aren't poor) in BC, Alberta, and Ontario have to pay premiums of about $550 to $650 a year.

Basic_man 07-12-2005 07:20 AM

Canada is the way to go :thumbsup

CDSmith 07-12-2005 07:25 AM

Ah, I see it clearly now. Bringer is projecting his anger of the situation in California onto Canada.

Got it.

Look man.. I'm a Canadian, I have been a Canadian since birth, and I'm sitting here telling you that my taxes aren't that bad, and our health care system for all intents and purposes is free. Yes it's taken from our taxes but we are paying taxes regardless. All I know is that whenever anyone I know is admitted to the hospital for anything, there is no huge bill upon release. There is no small bill. There is NO bill. So it's free in that sense.

Get it?

If you go to the ER for a sprained ankle when the ER is busy you're going to wait. Big deal. But if you go in with something more serious like chest pain or a stab wound you're going to be taken in and treated immediately. Canadians who complain about our system are also free to head south and pay for their medical care.

i get how it works. and yes, i fucking hate it because of what im forced to deal with here. the us just decides to waste its money on bullshit instead of providing us all with it using our current tax system, and im tired of paying extra for lazy fucks who dont deserve it. im sick of paying for illegals who get it aswell. im forced to pay my share and theirs. i also pay for their goddamn welfare, section 8 housing, and every other free service they get. fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bringer 07-12-2005 07:35 AM

btw, i think thats why i hate hearing its free. thats the same shit they say around here. i look at them in their nice clothes buying expensive food and just want the beat the shit out of them with a bat. ITS NOT FREE, IM PAYING FOR IT! DIE!

yup we're paying taxes, but so do you americans. Atleast we know our money is helping local people instead of killing those abroad.
