It gives room for counter-offers. You may have noticed Asking $28k USD, OBO

Vitasoy 07-11-2005 04:40 PM

How much does it retail for?

pornguy 07-11-2005 04:41 PM

Very nice looking ride, but my F150 take enough gas. I dont think I want to pay for that one.

In Australia it would go for $100k AUS . . . so price is rather relative.

What kind of mileage do you get?

candyflip 07-11-2005 04:47 PM

It retails for a little over $28k, it's almost 4 model years old and you're asking $28k?

It's a GM vehicle too. Sticker price is about $8k more than what that truck is worth once it's driven off the lot.

Something doesn't seem right.

I don't think so ... with a gallon of petrol here retailing for around $5.30 or more people aren't buying 6 litre anythings anymore.

1. It is not stock
2. It says OBO
3. You are not a potential buyer anyway.

Not necessarily in that order.

Not a potential buyer because I know better. Just sharing the knowledge.

And now I'll run away and hide

He is interested in a straight across trade . . . if you will take over payments on his.

How about this . . . . $2,000 and take over payments.

or best offer. but that still doesn't matter.. you don't buy a car for 29k and sell it after 4 years of driving for 28k OBO

oh... its been driven for 4 years.. and isn't even being sold as orginal owner... and that somehow supports the price he is selling it for?

don't get mad because people are criticizing the price, you should just probably talk to your friend and inform him hes asking way too much.. then he'll have better luck selling it.. don't get so defensive

The Ghost 07-11-2005 05:11 PM

I don't have time to check cause KBB isn't loading, but more than like the truck retails for like $35k brand new, depending on the options.

Unfortunately, the Chevy sale they are having right now is not helping his cause much, he is aware of this.

baddog : show this link to your friend http://www.internetautoguide.com/use...ado/index.html

Anyone interested in buying a gm, ford, chrysler product should take advantage of the employee discounts for everyone offer they are having right now. They are taking 10k off the msrp on many models. Brand new 2005 Silverado 1500HD LT has MSRP of 40,500 you can now get one for 31,500.

V_RocKs 07-11-2005 05:24 PM

Nice truck!

Yeah...OR BEST OFFER.

I've just never seen anyone ask original retail price for a vehicle that's almost 4 years old AND a GM vehicle.

There's nothing aftermarket that you listed that would justify adding almost $10k to it's current value.

Notice the one for $22k? No lift, no off-road tires, no running boards. Not a quad-cab, only 2-door

Agreed, today was not the best day to think about selling it

evildick 07-11-2005 05:27 PM

Neat looking truck. My car dealer friend is picking up loaded 2004 Z71's at the Toronto auction for a little less than $28,000 Canadian. No lift kit or 35 inch tires though. I think he sells them for around $30K Canadian.

22k is like the highest priced one.. almost all of them are between 10-15k on that site.. and theres a lot of listings..

btw mods don't tend to add a lot of value to cars, being completely stock is better then having a couple mods...

Fresh 07-11-2005 05:28 PM

If you bought it for 28k four years ago and spent 10k on customization, your truck is now worth 20k max. Realisticly its about 18k

cached 07-11-2005 05:32 PM

Can buy a 2005 Silverado 1500 Extended Cab Standard Box 4x4 Z71 brand new for 24,500. Almost too good to pass up.

Can get an loaded explorer for around 25k brand new.

2005 Chevrolet Tahoe 4x4 LS 1SJ for 31,500
