since you're mentioning specific roles, Brad Pitt in Fight Club was pretty bad-ass. Sean Penn in U-Turn didn't give a fuck. Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction. Stallone in Rocky. Crowe in Gladiator. Walken in True Romance. Pacino as Scarface definitely.
