Living in Florida - whats the fucking point?

Just read that «Dennis» is the strongest hurricane ever recorded and that 1 mill will be evacuated from Florida and Lousiana. This seemes to happen again and again and again and....? Why do people bother living down there? So much to worry about every freakin time :disgust

Your an idiot.

And your research is bullshit also btw.

Look up Hurricane Andrew

They love the nice weather and the cheap realestate :thumbsup :winkwink:

KMR Stitch.. where am I wrong? Government reports that it might delevop into a category 5 and have never experienced such a big one this early in the season.. In Alabama, about 500,000 people were under evacuation orders, as were 700,000 in Florida and 190,000 in Mississippi..

Over 1 million residents of Florida and Louisiana were ordered to evacuate Saturday as Hurricane Dennis moved toward the Florida Panhandle.

The hurricane is the strongest to form in the Atlantic this early in the season since records began in 1851, the centre said.
your facts are a little off, but close

What grade did you drop out in again?

you said it was the strongest hurricane ever...not true

hugo was the strongest to ever hit the east coast, and that was in 1989

Advanced Intellect 07-09-2005 04:25 PM

Dennis officially became the strongest July Atlantic Basin hurricane on record and the strongest Atlantic hurricane this early in hurricane season.

I love Florida, Shit happens everywhere but I don't see people moving from Cali because of fires, mud slides, and earth quakes.. What about tornado's in the mid west.. Why do we live at all with all that happening.. Its Nature where ever you live, deal with it.

Jensen 07-09-2005 04:33 PM

hmm we don't have any hurricanes, fires, mud slides or earth quakes.. only thing might be flooding that takes care of a few farmers etc every few years.. I wouldn't want to live in a place where I had to worry about my family, business, house etc a few times every year

Phoenix Arizona baby! I can't remember the last time it rained here.

rain is a good thing, you know that right?

tungsten 07-09-2005 05:01 PM

the hurricanes suck but it sure is nice down there

media 07-09-2005 05:02 PM

I loved florida, even when Charlie came through last year at internext it was still a great time... Driving over downed palm trees on the way to the strip club (where everything was as usual) was a blast...

You just learn to adapt.. California has huge earthquakes.. why do we live there? Cuz we want to, we adapt...

Same thing with FL, though it is a shame this shit happens yearly..

MediumPimpin 07-09-2005 05:06 PM

Been in Florida since 1972, never had to leave due to any storm, so far total damage done is a few small trees knocked down.

MickeyG 07-09-2005 05:12 PM

it never gets cold nor snows :)
