I know it won't kill anybody, that's why I want it ... I am not a "gun" guy ... but will it at least slow someone down enough to protect me and give me the advantage if they want to do me serious harm?

It'll penetrate skin, but it's not going to put anyone down. It'll protect you as long as they don't have a real one.

480fps.... They come higher than that, but you won't get it up to 800 or 900fps like the rifles.

Seriously, you are better off pointing it at the guy and having him think its a real gun..

That gun above could kill. 15 shots to the neck and you are bound to hit an artery. That thing may even be able to penetrate into the heart. I don't know. The stronger rifle kind certainly could.

.177 caliber with 480 fps would do enough damage to slow the guy down a lot! He would probably fall after taking a shot from that gun, unless you're too far away from the guy, then he would be hurt for sure, but I don't know if he would fall.

wow, ok. sounds like a decent option then ... for the love of God I don't want to kill anyone, but as far as scaring him (because it looks like a real gun at first glance - there is NO orange safety tip) and possibly slowing him down it might be helpful. Hopefully I will never need to pull this thing on the guy. I truly hope that ... I am not a violent guy but I will do what it takes to protect myself.

How often have people staved off problems using guns? I rarely if ever read about a person successfully defending their home from intruders because they had a gun, or save themselves from muggers because they had a gun.

Get a big can of pepper spray. No one wants to fight after getting shot in the face with that shit.

Now that's some good advice.

Go one step further and get chemical bear spray. You can pretty much drop a crowd with a large sized container of that shit. It hangs in the air like a some sort of supernatural fuck-you-up cloud. No good.

Seriously.. I have some stupid friends and I have seen the effects of mace / taser guns and pepperspray. Out of the 3.. pepperspray is the one that really takes the fight out of someone. All anyone wants to do after getting hit with that shit is crawl to a bathroom and wash their face, then lay down. :1orglaugh

Mace is alright, but its a bit weaker. Stun guns are just fucking lame unless you can get them on the neck or something.. but in my books thats just way too close.

Pulling some fake gun on someone is just going to get you shot in the long run.

You've got that backwards. Mace will stop almost anyone in their tracks, pepperspray is the weaker of the two.

if you want a CO2 gun get an ANICS a-3000 its got cool 28 shot clips and its 525fps its definitely the best one

Why would you want to kill anyone? Most of the time, just the sight of the guy should do the trick.............

1st- Check your local State and County laws. Some states have harsh penalties for having anything that looks like a real firearm, fake or not. If the other party believes you have a real weapon, its the same as an actual firearm. Example: If you rob a bank with a toy gun, and the bank employees believe it is a real firearm, you will be charged with armed robbery.

2nd- Pepper spray (law enforcement strength) is a great defense. If you can get it they make a personal can the size of breath spray and I have seen it in action. 2 sprays put 3 people on the ground choking and gasping for air.

My advice is to skip the BB gun. Either get a real gun and take a safety class and get some lessons offered at any gun range. Or get some pepper spray...

BTW, people have been killed by BB and pellet guns....

some air guns are as powerful as a .22 and if you get the right kind of pellets they can penetrate.

I wouldn't want to be shot 15 x's with a small projectile at close range. It may not kill them but it sure as hell is gonna hurt..maybe enough for you to get out the door and away.

Make sure he thinks it's a real gun as long as you can. I'd also recomend going to a local range a couple times a week and get good at shooting. Cause if you ever had to pull the trigger, you wanna be able to hit'em some place that'll slow'em down. If you hit a guy in the arm that, chances are (if he's got enough reason) he'll still be able to take you down with relative ease. Remember, adrenaline eases pain until it wears off.

I accidentally shot a friend with a pellet pistol in the back.. 6' 350 lbs.. dropped to his knees and cried. That said, you pop someone on drugs with it nothings gonna happen other then you now have an incredibly pissed off druggie in front of you.

Spose it would work if you start shooting at his face, he cowers to protect it, you could then stab him in the back of the head.

If this is some guy threatening to kick your ass, last thing you want to do is pull that on him to scare him away and have it escalate the situation where he goes out and gets his own gun for the next time he sees you. Just get some pepper spray.

If you want home protection, get a shotgun.

It's funny that the media doesn't cover it, because on average in the US people successfully defend themselves with guns WITHOUT pulling the trigger about 2 and half MILLION times a year.

Three guesses why you don't hear about them on the news...
