.eu registrations coming up

What do you all think of the new .eu TLD (european)? The sunrise period (where trademark domains can be registrered) starts at the end of this year and normal registrations can take place at the beginning of 2006.

Does any of you have any (good) preregistrations? Or isn't this as interesting as EURid (http://www.eurid.eu) wants everybody to believe?

I think it's a little late to the party. IMO most people will still prefer country specific TLDs, unless their business happens to operate in many EU countries.

I'm sure plenty will register a .eu domain, but I don't think it will become incredibly popular.

I think it will be about as popular as .us

it will IMO become slightly more popular than .us
and I expect lots of organisations to want to buy the premium ones

anyway, it's interesting to see that http://www.eurid.eu/ already exists :D

I agree, slightly more popular than .us, but still less popular than .com and various country specific TLDs like .co.uk or .de
