ESRB Getting Flak over XXX GTA: San Andreas
ESRB Investigating GTA Mod, Responds to Yee's Scathing Remarks
http://biz.gamedaily.com/features.asp?article_id=10023 Is there ever a day when Rockstar's GTA franchise isn't in the middle of some controversy? After CA Assemblyman Leland Yee attacked the ESRB for its rating of the latest GTA, the ratings board said it is opening an investigation into the sex minigames mod. ESRB president Patricia Vance also responded directly to Yee's verbal slam. Yesterday we reported on a statement released by California Assemblyman Leland Yee, who slammed the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) for rating Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas "M" and not "AO," which is the highest rating the board can assign a title. Obviously the latest GTA has been on store shelves for quite some time now, but this most recent controversy came to a head when it was discovered that a mod for the game unlocked graphic sex scenes. Do you think the ESRB will ever become an enforcement agency?
Will modders be required to submit games to an approving body? |
