Well the best would probably Fallsview Casino http://fallsviewcasinoresort.com. I think you can get away with a drivers license... If you have a passport bring it just incase.

http://discoverniagara.com/main/home/index.html has some other links.

We just booked a couple rooms at the Embasy Suites in Ontario after talking with Gordon from http://niagarafallslive.com/Editors_...otel_picks.htm

We were looking for views, service, wireless fast access and found this to be our favorite.

Good Luck, when ya going?

I was at the Hilton I beleive and view is amazing. See the falls illuminated at night is great.

I suggest Canadian side, the whole place is like a museum with TONS of cool stuff to do.

Especially if you bring your kids

SleazyDream 07-08-2005 12:56 PM

honneymoon resort area - getting married again?

Spoff 07-08-2005 12:57 PM

FallsView Marriott is nice.. and they have some excellent chefs with excellent food. Not alot of the hotels have attractions outside of a bus to the casino... and if your kids are going with you... try MarineLand... just a few minutes north.. they'll love it.

Like they say the Fallsview Casino is the newest and pretty central to everything :2 cents:

BTW, Gordon did say the Fallsview Casino http://fallsviewcasinoresort.com that Muff recommended will be within the Top 10 list the next time he updates.

Next week I hope. I am about to book filghts but I want to make sure I do not have to have a passport to get into and out of Canada

Spoff 07-08-2005 01:01 PM

No Choker you don't need one YET... I cross the border multiple times a month and lic. are still fine... though the law will change at years end and a passport will be needed... or so the rumor goes.

kristin 07-08-2005 01:01 PM

I LOVE Niagara Falls, but I grew up right outside of Buffalo. The Canadian side is definitely better though.

I miss NY in the fall time, that's my suggestion of when to go ... it's beautiful.

Awesome thanks, this one looks really good http://niagarafallslive.com/niagara_...lls_canada.htm

So the kids will like the Canada side better ?

Spoff 07-08-2005 01:04 PM

Without a doubt

Choker 07-08-2005 01:05 PM

hmm, If I fly into Buffalo do I need a rental car?

Yes.

And Buffalo, really small airport in comparison to others. When are you going?

Well that depends.. if your planning on staying on the Canadian side... then get a rental... if your staying on the US side and plan on just walking across to the Canadian side... you could get away with a few bus trips back and forth from Buffalo to the Falls.

Wierd, the hotel told me you can't take a rental car from buffalo across the border into canada. Next week. It's a hour from Niagra falls I am being told

Spoff 07-08-2005 01:12 PM

I can't really say as I've never tried to cross in a rental... BUT there are a TON of buses that cross over.

Well that wasn't your question. ; )

You might not be able to ... but I'm not sure, I have never done the rental car thing there and I haven't gone across in quite some time either. I'm in Arizona now and don't go home too often.

I would assume it's like Mexico ... but again, I'm not sure. You get Mexican insurance and then you can go over. I think you'd just be able to get away with it too. They are pretty lax going over from what I remember. But again, I haven't been there in awhile, so I'm not sure how much they beefed up on security.

Spoff 07-08-2005 01:13 PM

oh and Buffalo is maybe 20 mins south/west of Niagara... NOT an hour.

Very true, I think you can spit across the border from any spot in Buffalo. : )

Trust me Choker your kids defenitly want to go canada side. I am a kid at heart and I went last year and had a blast.

yys 07-08-2005 01:18 PM

Definitly stay in Niagra Falls on the Canadian side; that's where everything is.
If the car rental companies won't let you take the car across the border just fly into Hamilton or Toronto.

candyflip 07-08-2005 01:36 PM

I've been staying at the Casino on my weekend trips up. :thumbsup

Canadian side is a much better trip. They do a better job taking care of their part.

candyflip 07-08-2005 01:38 PM

Also...I'm in Rochester and can be at the border crossing in 1 hour.

Someone is feeding you a line of shit about Buffalo being an hours away.

beemk 07-08-2005 01:43 PM

you dont need a passport choker, sometimes they say you need a birth certificate and an id. the birth cert has to be original with the stamp, not a copy.

Choker 07-08-2005 02:02 PM

Thanks everyone for the help. I booked the
King bed Jacuzzi Suite Premium Fallsview
