It might be a good thing. The guy in his day was a wild one for sure. He is known to be a very bright guy and he is also very witty. He would also have a strong following from the 30-50 crew, male and female. Not sure if he could pick up the younger crowd, but then again, Im not sure what his angle for the show is going to be yet. The dude does know his womon though.

I haven't heard David speak for an extended length of time, but all of his previous antics have him as a Danny Bonnaduchie kind of character. I can't imagine David being able to relate to the casual guy, since the amount of pussy, fame and fortune he's experienced puts him in la la land. I could be wrong though. I do think whoever it is has some BIG shoes to fill.

I personally think that this is a great idea! His recent, yet random appearances on the Howard Stern Show, have been excellent in a Joe Walsh kind of way. If he can make it to the studio on time each morning, David Lee Roth, might just have the charisma that it will take to take over for Howard Stern, as there will never be a replacement.

yeah. he's definitely a really smart guy. he's waaay out there on the weirdo scale but still sharp as a tack. he has that steven tyler stream of consciousness thing working for him, plus it's radio so we don't have to look at his wrinkled up mug and his bleached out hair.

They were orginally trying to get Chris Rock to do it..

howard is a big chris rock fan but he's always said that rock isn't funny when he can't swear and be himself. the radio would have been a huge burden for rocks humor.
