TX Cop Rapes Transsexual In Back Of Cop Car
 

San Antonio police arrested one of their own Tuesday for allegedly sexually assaulting another man.

Officials made the announcement Tuesday afternoon regarding the officer who has been on administrative duty for about a month.

Officer Dean Gutierrez was taken into custody Tuesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 21-year-old man on June 10. The alleged assault involved a transsexual by the name of Starlight.

Investigators allege Starlight was picked up by the bus stop near Laredo and Zarzamora by Gutierrez, who was off duty at the time and said he needed to check for warrants.

Investigators said that was just a pretense and said Gutierrez then sexually assaulted Starlight.

San Antonio Police Chief Albert Ortiz said tests confirmed that bodily fluids found in the patrol car and on the victim belong to Gutierrez.

"The citizens of this community deserve to trust every police officer on the street," Ortiz said. "When something like this happens, of course, that destroys a certain amount of that trust. Hopefully, by handling this case expeditiously ... sends a message to the community that trusting San Antonio police officers is worthwhile. And any other officer who finds himself outside the law, can expect that we will treat their case as expeditiously and as quickly as possible."

Gutierrez is in custody and faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted in a court trial.
