How was YOUR Fourth of July?

Relaxing and wonderful. That's how I'm describing my weekend. Barbecues and pool days with my lovely family.

Besides it being Scott's birthday, apparently all weekend long, how was yours?

What did everyone do?

Marcus Aurelius 07-05-2005 12:42 PM

Shitty. as soon as it got dark a huge thunderstorm hit and it rained like hell for 3 hours.

Relish XXX 07-05-2005 12:44 PM

I got into the July 4th celebrations by letting a load of Americans beat the shit out of me.

Ace_luffy 07-05-2005 01:10 PM

nice one... me having a party with my friends...

baddog 07-05-2005 01:16 PM

Business as usual until darkness, then went to a friend's and blew up his neighborhood.

Their neighbors love me this time of year.

Brad Mitchell 07-05-2005 02:50 PM

mdcq: Sorry to hear that. Be thankful that baddog didn't come to your neighborhood. Then, it would have been even shittier.

Relish. Hate to say it, but that statement definitely needs pics.

Do you have a DRM solution?

I will post some pictures of me being tied up and flooged in the name of America later :)

The police are very liberal about fireworks in my town, and pretty much everyone takes advantage of that. By 10 pm the entire neighborhood is covered in a thick layer of smoke like a bad fog. It's unreal.

Sosa 07-05-2005 03:32 PM

my 4th was pretty good. Spent time with relatives that I haven't seen for a year or so.

mardigras 07-05-2005 03:33 PM

My folks all wanted to do various things this year which also included entertaining those most likely to be pulling me away from things so I took advantage of the situation to finally catch up on some projects for myself:thumbsup

I took a timeout to go enjoy the city's fireworks display from a popular location with an OK view of the fireworks (but sucked for taking pictures). A good tradeoff hanging out with a loose crowd there and going home quickly overto being locked down with the "official & controlled crowd" for hours before/after. :winkwink:

Not at all, the neighbors really do love me. I always get a round of applause after my finale.

beemk 07-05-2005 03:55 PM

i didnt do much on the 4th except watch and listen to the hundreds of people in my neighborhood light off fireworks all night long. saturday i went to the lake to jet ski and bbq, it was a lot of fun.

Brad Mitchell 07-05-2005 08:01 PM

Fireworks remind me of when I was a little kid. Always fascinated me. baddog. Do the insurance companies love you, too, when you blow up a neighborhood? LOL

All those spectacular displays of color and vibrance, an excuse to have a party, go to a party, live it up.

And, yet, something bothers me. The world no longer gets a day off to celebrate Christmas and Thanksgiving and now, our own country doesn't get the day off to celebrate its independence and its birth date.

Sad, really. Would one day of all things closed really hurt that badly?
