I just bought a 19 inch Samsung LCD, 1280x1024 native with a nice 8 ms response time. Model is 930b. Paid about $400.00 at best buy.

I'd love a Samsung but they don't seem to sell any black models (at least in not in the UK that is).

That sucks, the 930b is black(hence the 'b'), have you tried searching for that model specifically?

If I have to look at it all day I might as well buy something that pleases the eye. :winkwink:

Basic_man 07-05-2005 09:24 AM

I just got my Viewsonic G90FB CTR monitor and it rocks big time !!

If you do graphics, get a CRT !

Kre8t0r 07-05-2005 09:26 AM

I'm partial to Viewsonic. Great support and "stylish" too! :thumbsup

Hmmm finaly a question in my field :P right now one of the best 19" is the samsung ( cant recall the model num) with a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and 8ms refresh rate. Folowed by the NEC 19" with 900:1 and 8ms ( although this one has some issues wiht out of the box pixel burns) Yup beeing a tech in best buy helps :P if you got any questions or if you want an advice either on a pc or a screen hit me on ICQ : 220-210-965

bringer 07-06-2005 01:59 AM

Thanks man! Appreciate it alot. Maybe I should go for a silver Samsung instead of forcing a black monitor on myself. Too bad they don't sell any black Samsungs in England but it's more important that the quality is good. :thumbsup :thumbsup

you can also go with this one if you want something a little bigger.

however, i DEFINITELY suggest getting a widescreen. they're sexy.

LeDeN 07-06-2005 02:45 AM

iiyama or Viewsonic should be your choice, take a look at their models

LeDeN 07-06-2005 02:46 AM

btw, i have iiyama LCD 17" from more than a year. I have never seen better LCD monitor till now

I just looked at the Dells and they are lovely but neither of them seem to have DVI?

they both should. i bought the 20.1 inch model and it has dvi. surely the 24 inch model does as well.

Bob_cougar 07-06-2005 03:07 AM

go for the Samsung Brand

phogirl69 07-06-2005 03:11 AM

I have a Samsung 910t. It's great!

Fah King 07-06-2005 07:26 AM

SSP just make sure that you ration is not lower then 600:1 and you refresh not more then 12ms. As for a LCD bigger then 19" it might be a hastle since the resolution is still quite low and the contrast along with the refresh rate aren that good either.

Farang 07-06-2005 07:29 AM

Sony, Dell

Dalai lama 07-06-2005 07:30 AM

My Sony has some style :)

SinSational 07-06-2005 07:37 AM

i have a couple samsung syncmasters
make sure you get a low response time though. 12ms or less.

EroticySteve 07-06-2005 07:45 AM

Make sure that it has a digital video input too. Mine only had the VGA cable. I'm not a computer expert and I bought what looked cool and looked like a good deal to turn out it's not the latest tech.

William-Xfactor 07-06-2005 08:23 AM

I have a BenQ 8ms LCD.
To be honest it works great for office related tasks, viewing images, web pages ETC,
but sucks for video related work.

So I still prefer my 22inch CRT for that.

infecto 07-06-2005 08:37 AM

There is only one top monitor right now. Its a viewsonic and it has a 4ms response time. Fastest response time for any LCD on the market and its only about $450. Of course if you don't care a shit about response time then it might not be for you but this monitor is bright, crisp and has great colors.

tranza 07-06-2005 08:54 AM

Damn, that Sony one looks hot!
