Hmmm finaly a question in my field :P right now one of the best 19" is the samsung ( cant recall the model num) with a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and 8ms refresh rate. Folowed by the NEC 19" with 900:1 and 8ms ( although this one has some issues wiht out of the box pixel burns) Yup beeing a tech in best buy helps :P if you got any questions or if you want an advice either on a pc or a screen hit me on ICQ : 220-210-965

you can also go with this one if you want something a little bigger.
however, i DEFINITELY suggest getting a widescreen. they're sexy. |
iiyama or Viewsonic should be your choice, take a look at their models
btw, i have iiyama LCD 17" from more than a year. I have never seen better LCD monitor till now

they both should. i bought the 20.1 inch model and it has dvi. surely the 24 inch model does as well. |
go for the Samsung Brand
I have a Samsung 910t. It's great!
SSP just make sure that you ration is not lower then 600:1 and you refresh not more then 12ms. As for a LCD bigger then 19" it might be a hastle since the resolution is still quite low and the contrast along with the refresh rate aren that good either.
Sony, Dell
My Sony has some style :)
i have a couple samsung syncmasters
make sure you get a low response time though. 12ms or less. |
Make sure that it has a digital video input too. Mine only had the VGA cable. I'm not a computer expert and I bought what looked cool and looked like a good deal to turn out it's not the latest tech.
I have a BenQ 8ms LCD.
To be honest it works great for office related tasks, viewing images, web pages ETC, but sucks for video related work. So I still prefer my 22inch CRT for that. |
There is only one top monitor right now. Its a viewsonic and it has a 4ms response time. Fastest response time for any LCD on the market and its only about $450. Of course if you don't care a shit about response time then it might not be for you but this monitor is bright, crisp and has great colors.
Damn, that Sony one looks hot!
