I think the British gov't might have a sense of humour
So, my application form for dual citizenship arrived today after asking for it months ago. I wonder how hard they had to work to deliver an application to become British to an American on the 4th of July :)

Congrats it is perfect timing :)

I love it . Most brits want out because of house prices and you want in!
Not meaning to snoop but because of the death of your husband will in effect your application? |

I had already filled in an application before he died but I requested a new one because I had to change it to say I am a widow. It shouldn't effect me because I have been here nearly double the time someone that isn't even married to a British citizen needs to be here. That said, I am still a bit nervous that they will still find a reason to say no. Everyone tells me that I shouldn't worry though. The form is funny btw..it asks just a few personal details and then asks me if I have ever been involved in genocide. Oh and it costs £268 to become a British Citizen. |

OK People.... it is now official.
Sarah is renouncing her American-ness. She is discarding the US flag. She is leaving the big apple homeland. Sarah has now officially applying to become a (da...da... daaaa...) British Ciziten. |
Before you leave Sarah, why don't you drink and enjoy this day with us? ;)
