Clinton's Odds For Winning White House Set At 5-1 Wed Jun 29 2005 09:51:56 ET Odds that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) will win the White House in 2008 have improved greatly -- at least in the underworld of online betting, ROLL CALL reports. At the Web-based sports book, SportsInteraction.com, Clinton's odds of occupying the White House in 2008 have improved to 5-1. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani follows with 7-1 odds of winning the presidency in 2008, ahead of former Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.), who fetched 9-1 odds. New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson is fourth with 13-1 odds, followed by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) with 15-1 odds. Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) is last on the SportsInteraction.com Web site, with 41-1 odds of winning the White House in 2008. |

Yeah, they certainly excel in . . . . ummm, what is it they do again? Sorry, but Margaret Thatcher as Prime Minister of England doesn't quite match the responsibilty of being Governor of California, much less the President ot the United States, |

Okay, I guess I should qualify it to a country bigger than the State of Texas. |
I'd vote for Bill if he was able to run again :)

I'm surprised to see Giuliani ahead of McCain on the Republican side - however, keep in mind that gambling sites often hype and promote such nonsense only to improve their house odds...i.e., to lure in sucker bettors.
Giuliani is the worst possible suck-up, grand-standing, meglomaniac candidate that I can imagine. Giuliani has way too many skeletons in his closet (even more than Hillary - his messy divorce, various mistresses, the Kerik scandal, etc). Plus he is a hypocrite that is just plain bad for the adult industry. McCain, is largely perceived as the consumate pragamatist deal-maker, whose values and integrity are above reproach by most Americans. Ingredients that could make him a strong contender the next time around. Given his age, this will likely be his last hurrah. Should Hillary lose to him, but make a good showing, she should be a powerful candidate the next time around. I think Hillary is going to have an uphill battle even among Democrats in her first run at the Presidency, however if she fairs well amongst Democrats, even if she fails to win the nomination or Presidency, she should have a good chance in the following election, especially if no improvements are seen in the economy, the Middle East, in Healthcare, or in Education and Social Security. Call me a pessimist, but short of a Giuliani presidency (which I would consider a disaster), anything else should be an improvement over the current regime. ADG Webmaster |

Note to Europeans: Don't judge the ignorance of American's by baddog.
Right baddog, I'm sure Arnold Schwarzeneggar as Governor of California is a much better leader than Margaret Thatcher could ever dream of being. |

how about canada? wait it's not successful enough?? or there's too many prairies??? If you question was: Name another country exactly like United States, the same size as US... that had a female president...the answer is none.... Now if UK or Ireland or Canada are "unsuccessfull" countries to you LOL... I have to assume(or hope) you are kidding.... just saying they never did anything doesn't make it factual.... |
I'd vote for her :)

I know it's big.. it's just not bigger than the UK. I was in Cali shortly after Arnold was elected.. all I heard was how the terminator was in control of the worlds 7th largest economy. Once again not saying it's small just correcting an obvious falsehood. |

They operate almost the same as America.. they've also had a lot more experience at being a global power.. so technology, arms sales, development loans etc. In 100 years people might say "America was the last "China"" ;) Basically it annoys me to see people poking fun at the last empire because it makes me feel sorry for them for their ignorance. Unfortunately America's global hegemony won't last forever and it can fall from dominance as quickly as it grew. Sooner or later America will be a quaint country where the people have a legacy of a ruling mindset but the impotence to exercise it like current day England. Merely a player instead of the leader. I hope that day is later rather than sooner but it's a sad inevitability (for the west anyways). |
She can be the next US president. As long as Bill willbe her secretary..lol

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prime_M...United_Kingdom In the United Kingdom, the Prime Minister is the head of government, exercising many of the executive functions nominally vested in the Sovereign, who is head of state. According to custom, the Prime Minister and the Cabinet (which he or she heads) are responsible for their actions to Parliament, of which they are members by (modern) convention. The current Prime Minister is Tony Blair (of the Labour Party), who has been in office since 1997. |
very interesting discussions... but sometimes it really doesn't matter whether it's a male or a female who's doing the job of president, prime minister or whatever... in our country, we have experienced both and sad to say the development here is only gradual.. and right now our female president is so darn stupid.. she actually almost indirectly admitted committing electoral fraud..

yeah...exaclty...
