Video Editing Software

I am looking for some Video editing software that will let me modify the audio on video files.. I have a large number of files, all varying sizes, which the only mods I would defiantely need to make would be audio changes.. Either removing certain portions of audio or going with a music overlay.

Does anyone have any suggestions for software that is shareware out there or reasonably priced at the very least? There is a CMS which should handle cutting up all the clips to the proper size, offering a hi/low rez version, and sharpen them up... I just need to get the audio portion cleaned up so the surfer doesn't hear the person who shot the content talking :)

I guess so then.

I have never used Vegas, but I have heard a lot of people say that it is really good. But if you can, get a trial, and see what works best for you, then make your purchase.

I like 6 better then 5.

faster rendering, project nesting, timeline scrubing and it now has duel display support. :)

Nothing beats Adobe Premiere and FinalCut Pro. Throw some After Effects in there, and you are all set.
