that sucks. that is one of the reasons i don't like the sport. and for what did he die. to entertain some other people.

KRL 07-03-2005 12:24 PM

Boxing is the most physically brutal sport out there. Their faces and heads get fucked up for weeks and months.

He died doing what he loved.

UFC has been pretty boring for the last 5+ years, they spend way too much time on the mat. K1 has more explosive action imo. :winkwink:

Boxing is actually safer without gloves than we gloves

why is that?

MMA (UFC, KOTC) is much safer than boxing, although it appears to be more brutal it's really not

Why is that?

Btw, those boxers know the possibility of dying while fighting. They love what they do.

because you are taking blow after blow to the head i would think. you take a good right hook from someones hand, you're out.

Gloves are worn to protect the hands of the fighters and not the heads of the fighters. The blows to the head are just as hard with or without the gloves.

why do you care what he died for? how about competition, being the best at something, glory, fame, money, chicks, houses, cars, private planes etc etc etc etc.

its his life, his career and his death. none of your business at all really.

cuz without gloves you woulnt punch someone in the head or you would break your hand, wrist, knuckles. Just the face would get bloodied, and no brain injuries.

UFC fights are a lot safer than boxing matches

That's because in UFC whenever a fighter gets hit repeatedly to the head without fighting back, the fight is over...

In boxing they get hits countless times to the head and if they get knocked out they still got 10 seconds to get up and get more poundings on the head, and repeat...

Seems the liberal intelligencia wishes to, once again, tell people what they can and can't do and then tell people what they can and can't watch.

More people are injured by ping pong every year....

I nursed Micheal Watson for months while he recovered from a serious HI after a fight with Eubanks. I cant/wont go into detail, but lets say it wasnt pretty.

You might not say those things if you had seen the state of his family and friends.

Every op he had was a nightmare for them - he could have died at any minute. I cant imagine why anyone would put others through that. :2 cents:

Damian_Maxcash 07-03-2005 07:12 PM

I didnt even know about this until just now...... Thats amazing, at one point the guy was a close to death as you can be.

TheSenator 07-03-2005 07:33 PM

That is why organization like the UFC and PRIDE are going to be bigger than boxing.

Dope.

Gloves protect the hands and not the face/head?

The diffusion of energy works both ways.

Mainly cause there is no standing 10 count, the ref stops the fight when you can't defind yourself, very quick I might add
