Terms and conditions.... do you read them?

do you fucking read them when you signup to a program?

kernelpanic 07-02-2005 11:41 PM

Always.

I read them, close my browser, come back in a few hours, and read them again. I can't count how many programs I've avoided because of stuff buried deep in the terms and conditions that could come back and screw me later.

newbreed 07-02-2005 11:42 PM

A lot of the people I have dealt with read them, agree to them, then bitch later when you bring up they are violating them...

kernelpanic 07-02-2005 11:45 PM

Its good to know what sponsors will cancel payouts for, in the rare event they choose to exercise their rights under the agreement.....I've seen a lot of people get burned.

slapass 07-02-2005 11:50 PM

Nope but i only send big traffic(to me) to sponsors that I have seen around and are solid.

iwantchixx 07-02-2005 11:53 PM

I tend to skim the TOS on everything.

xlogger 07-02-2005 11:56 PM

hahaha! That is too long, i bet 98% of the people dont read it.

But, when i use to mail - i use to read them can-spam stuff.

DivX 07-02-2005 11:59 PM

I read only to see if I can promote them. Lots don't accept webmasters from Brazil.

bdld 07-03-2005 12:10 AM

never read it, most are copy+paste bs they got from another sponsors tos

polish_aristocrat 07-03-2005 04:44 AM

I used to study them carefull - print them out etc, and go through every point when I started my career in this biz 3 years ago. Then I contacted sponsors with detailed questions and they were kinda surprised.

Nowadays I don't read them anymore unless I am looking for something specific.

kernelpanic 07-03-2005 09:57 PM

If you don't read them thoroughly, you're just asking to get fucked on technicality.
