Do you put your computer directly on the floor, or on your desk or something?

If you put it on your floor then how do you protect your floor from the head and dust and crap your computer puts out?

I put mine on my floor and now the rug is dirty after months of it.

Spunky 07-02-2005 08:21 PM

Theres a section for it in my desk

woj 07-02-2005 08:23 PM

I put it on the floor and don't have that problem...
This may be a shock to you but computers don't generate "dust and crap"...

phogirl69 07-02-2005 09:08 PM

on the floor, won't fit on desk...

Here is a pic
Floor is a hella dirty and don't ask me why there is a spoon next to the pc

i eat at my desk so that's why there's nasty stuff on the carpet.

Nightwind 07-02-2005 09:13 PM

Used to be on the desk, needed room for my speakers to i put it on the floor.

kernelpanic 07-02-2005 09:21 PM

on the floor, I don't care about dust, since I dust it weekly

vending_machine 07-02-2005 09:21 PM

i put them all on blocks, there's about 12 of them.

The Other Sweetie 07-02-2005 09:38 PM

I've got 1 in the desk compartment and the other 2 on the floor at each side of my feet. I've never noticed any dust on my floor from it. It's actually rather clean under there... except for that potato chip that I dropped the other day and didn't know where it fell. lol

Babagirls 07-02-2005 09:50 PM

desk. i like to sit indian style while i work & its too hard on my back on the floor.

stroker 07-02-2005 09:56 PM

I was going to say that. You beat me to it.

abetech 07-02-2005 10:16 PM

Hell half the time the PC I use reguarly is case cover optional. When it is in a case though I have little fiberglass filters that fit over oversized vents/fans on my PC. Keeps everything from getting too dusty inside. Need those oversized vents though so I get enough airflow.

Hell I think I can make 2 more decased PCs out of my scrap box.

Floor. I vaccum the carpet weekly, and dust machine. So I do not have to worry about "dust and crap" getting in the machine.

:pimp

angel_x3ws 07-04-2005 09:59 AM

my pc is on my table.. no problem with it though.. except that my back kills me sometimes when i get stuck in front of the pc for a long time

Chaldoray 07-04-2005 10:02 AM

Why do you care where people set their computer? That's nonsense.

Vitasoy 07-04-2005 10:09 AM

Mines on the floor, was on a desk before.

mardigras 07-04-2005 10:10 AM

My desk has a bottom compartment for the tower, but lately I've been doing some tweaking and it's been on top of the desk with the cover open.

I'm thinking about leaving it on the desk. It's nearly impossible to get to the back ports when it's in the compartment and I can't slide it out far enough because of the monitor wire. I have various electronics that need to occasionally interact with the PC and I don't have dedicated ports for all of them.

alec 07-04-2005 10:33 PM

I usually work on my table so I make sure it has it's own place there.

webcrawler 07-04-2005 10:38 PM

on the floor. I need space for my dual monitor setup.

d_train 07-05-2005 04:47 AM

on the table. its easier to clean than the floor...

I have some 1'X1' tiles that I put them on. No issues with carpet filth that way.
