Musicians who are business men/women
Does the music sound different to you after people have stopped playing because they love it & sold their souls to the devil.
For instance, metallica, weezer, the rolling stones etc. I mean these 40 & 60 year old men are just businessmen, & it just seems to me their music has lost all soul & meaning at that point. It'd be like mozart opening planet hollywood with sly & the boys Theres a couple things i think commercialism shouldn't exist in......music & love Having said that, back to slangin porn :1orglaugh |
Yet they still manage to be idiots to many...
I listed to jazz lately and watch old movies, from the times when story, plot, art and acting mattered. |

all good bands, cept 311, but i guess they were ok |
Queensryche, Dream Theater, Rush, Def Leppard...love 'em.

Every band that I ever quit from was because they wanted to sell out in order to get label interest, and I did not want to go along with it. Never mind the fact that the following we had was into the band for the very reason that we were doing what we wanted to whether it was "trendy" or not. I admire the bands that stick to their guns regardless of what the current "flavor of the month" is; Queensryche, Nevermore, Type O Negative are a few that I can think of offhand that I feel have retained their integrity and are still doing it their way(in my opinion).

The Grateful Dead broke my heart.
|
Well songwriters also run out of inspiration.... i mean only so many albums you can churn out before you're out of ideas and naturally start falling back on the melodies and musical habits that you accumulate.

Having something to be remembered by the people is worth enough. You can't always expect to be successful on your craft all your life..
