first class for short travel is pointless but if you're doing a flight suich as australia to say.. i dunno... miami which is 21 hours + .. its a fucking great option

if you had to fly ny to japan and the flight was 14 hours i'm sure you'd prefer first class over coach since it'd be more comfortable

Hmmm.. I have only heard that from people that have not experienced first class amenities..or those that can't afford to pay forthe upgrade !

you're nuts. We just flew first-class LA to London a few weeks ago and the seats folded out into beds. Fell right asleep and woke up 10 hours later feeling great. Beats being sandwitched vertically between to indian businessmen for 10 hours who have just finished plates of curry at LAX.

sometimes i slide the curtains to the economy class area and hold a sign displaying "PWNED".

I only upgrade when I can (and when it's affordable) at the check in desk. I would never spend that kind of money on a first class ticket unless I am flying to Japan/Australia etc...

Yeah totally agree. Whenever boarding a short flight the first class passengers look like wannabe's to me pretending they didn't scrape up the fare by unloading the family trailer.

When flying to Hong Kong or London though I go business class, much more comfortable. Almost the same seat as first class for 1/3 less making first class passengers look even more like pretenders.
