Why do poor people have kids?
 

Someone I know rents out his basement to a poor spanish couple. Really nice people and hard working, but they just got married a year ago and now she's pregnant.
They have like no money, and now my friend is selling his house, so they have to find a new place in 2 months, with her being pregnant.
And they have a small dog too, and they will only look at apts that allow dogs, they wont consider giving the dog away.

And I was watching that new show "30 Days" with Morgan Spurlock where he has to spend 30 days oliving on minimum wage and he works with this guy who takes home $50 a day working, and has 4 kids!!
Why the fuck would people on min wage living paycheck to paycheck go having kids?

Wouldnt it make more sense to have a solid job first and save some money and THEN have kids?
I dont get people's thinking. Why the fuck do people create situations for themselves where they're struggling to get by?

Yup, birth control stuff isn't free. That's why AIDS and the amount of children has been growing in Africa so fast.

Spain being a Catholic country value life and consider having children a blessing.
The Church is not in favor and does not promote any form of contraception.

on another note you can get some free birth control from places like family planning and such. Problem is church organizations and such fight them. Then again most poor people are also religious and most religion says you can not use birth controll. Catch 22 but makes plenty of poor lil catholics.

I just dont get any intelligent adult would be like "hey honey, we're young and will have a family someday, but lets save money right now and be more secure in our finances, then when we can afford it we'll start our family".

Poor = uneducated = basic human instincts.

They have enough to do with their daily struggle for survival and don't really think about what they're doing and just follow their basic human instincts like the people in africa.

They're all digging their own graves. In africa those who earn money support the hundrets of people in the family and because of that decent standarts or wealth can never be etablished.

It's mostly because of religious believes and being uneducated, condoms are given away for free everywhere. Also some of the biggest AIDS spreaders are the local hospitals with next to no hygiene standarts.

Because poor people love to do the nasty.

Because they don't have the money for cable, so they gotta get it somewhere.

But on a serious note, I agree with you, I had the same thoughts when I watched the 30 days show as well.

I was waiting for the smart answer, this guy is right, Poor Education and Basic Human Instinct is the answer, they really dont know better.

I always noticed when I was younger that the poorest families always had a ton of kids. I remember a family that had like 8 kids and the mom was told if she had anymore she was going to die and they still had another one or two. I remember asking my mom same question. And her reply was something like that poor people maybe dont' have money to buy things, but having a baby, and this is with no thinking ahead, is free. Actually creating a baby doens't cost anything. I know it doens't make alot of sense when you think about it. But a baby is a very precious little person that you really get for free. Again that is without any thinking ahead at all about the costs related to having children.

Its the cycle of life man. Teen mothers give birth to future teen mothers and fathers. Poor people give birth to kids that stay poor.

Maybe they are happy.

Money isn't everything.

Well in the UK, if you are poor, you get money from the government on every child you have. So people who work hard have to support these people :Oh crap
