We have an African Grey Parrot, he is so awesome...but sometimes screams loud! He like's to pretend, he's on the phone..lol He can still bite hard too, he says about 300 words :-) He is a chainsaw with feather's, you need to spend alot of time with him. Sometimes they can get mad a pick out their feather's! GL! any questions feel free to ask, ICQ# 203-920-237 http://www.chichunt.com/jake2.jpg http://www.chichunt.com/jake1.jpg |

cute Parrot, did it speaks?

Nice bird, thats a conure right? Can't remember which breed though. African Greys are the bomb! We had one that lived well into it's 20's and only died because my grandmother got really old and was forgetting to take care of it. It had an unbelievable vocabulary though, something like 600 words. My dad raised parrots growing up, even ran a few shops specializing in birds when I was a kid. The most amazing bird we ever had was a yellownape amazon, the thing could say almost as much as I could. When I was young I would dress up at halloween as a pirate and carry him around on my shoulder when I went trick or treating.
Birds are cool, but a pain in the ass becasue they're so messy. I haven't had a bird since I moved out of my parents house because I got my fill growing up. Dad has since gotten older and has moved onto pigeons, which is what he originally started with as a kid. The amazing thing about my dad was he had an 8th grade education and no further education, but vets would call him up when they had a bird problem they couldn't figure out and he would have the answer. I've seen him cut open half dead birds, remove tumors and things and they'd survive and be better than ever. He was one of the only people on the east coast who could surgically sex any type of bird back in the day. Lol, I don't get to talk about my dad much but he was/is an amazing man and just goes to show you if you put your mind to something you can become an expert at it. |

Did you viit Willy Beans his website yet? http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cdinardo6/ Signore Parakeet Head says, "Yes... Stare into my gaze. You will do my bidding! I am your master!! :winkwink: |
Better hope he don't get to bored, those suckers can scream like a bitch!
;))) |
Great looking bird! The African Grey is nice too! I have 4 birds, all of which say a few words. My Quaker Parrot Jake says a shitload of things including singing happy birthday and twinkle twinkle.. My Cockatiel, Scoochie Boochie, Says his name, and a few other words but mostly loves to whistle tunes like the andy griffith theme song, and last but not least I have 2 parakeets that say a few words and also mimick everything the other birds do, they're just not as clearly heard as the other birds. Good Luck! Birds make great pets as long as you take the time to care for them and most of all you arent afraid of them. Being able to tolerate a few loud calls helps also. :winkwink:
