what do you think of gay marriage?

Gay marriages would influence gay families. Two men raising kids on the regular,
I'm not really religious -- but I don't think that's a good idea

Let me first say, I am spirtual, not religous.

That being said, I think "marriage" is between a man and a woman. If they want to pass a law, or allow gays to have a "civil union" that's fine. I understand the gay community wants something like marriage, but one of the main points involved is about property, medical insurance, and other legal things they have to deal with, and currently can't because they are not considered "spousal" like a normal marriage. I think a "civil union" would address this, and solve the problem.

I suppose they could be adopted - would you prefer children raised by two gay people who love them ( whether gay or lesbian ) or do you think the chikldren will have a better start in life growing up in a childrens home or under the auspices of something like the catholic church with paedophile priests.

Gay and lesbian isnt a learned behaviour and I know children who have been bought up by single gay parents who arent the least bit inclined to being gay themselves. I also know pleanty of gay people whose paremnts were completely hetero - in fact when you think about it EVEREY gay persons parents must have been hetero at one time - rules of nature.

Marriahge - hell yes - why should people be sidelined as 2nd class citizens for their sexual orientation - would you want people ruled out of marriage because of the coklor of their skin, their IQ or any other factor ?
Before you answer reember it wasnt that long ago that marriages between races were looked upon with shock and horror.

The times they are indeed a changing and thank God for that.
