First droughts now floods! We're being washed away here hehe

I almost didn't make it to the office this morning.. only that it was low tide at a river crossing... and even then it was almost touch and go through the water.. my GF won't be able to get back to her place out in the sticks again this afternoon with this amazing torrential rain. This crappy town in the picture is about 30-40 min away and is totally flooded out... when high tide comes they're buggered.. their levee is only 9.4 metres and it's expected to get to 10-11 metres.. in the unlikely event it broke there would be a 2m "tidal wave" sweeping it clean. We're ok on the coast here though.. although the local school has just closed for the day as evidenced by the throngs of kids running around with umbrellas. heh, fun stuff cept for the poor bastards caught up in it. |
where is this?
