Floridians Legendary Lars needs your Help !

I normally as many of you know have my family with me during the show at florida, this year they are closing the whole hotel to adults who are show atendees only. My family and I are doing disney world for the week before the show. What hotel should i put them up at in South beach ? They like the pool and the beach. These are what I found with a quick search. Where else other than south beach might I look ? Any Family Friendly resorts that are nice ?

Actually lars, I think that the one that is the best for a family would be the
the fontainebleau. The prices are very reasonable, there is a GREAT kids pool with some cool features, and it's just more geared towards a family situation altogether.

The Loews on South Beach has a good kids program and the hotel seems to be trying to please familes.

Fountainbleau is a good choice as well. Its got a fantastic pool with a big kiddie section.

All the Ritz Carltons have a good Kids program, although I personally would not recommend South Beach. Too much effort is spent at that hotel to be trendy, hip and upscale dont go with strollers and diapers. The Key Biscayne property is probably the best choice if you want to do the Ritz as its located on a nice beach that has shallow water (like 1-3 ft deep) for a long ways out. The property is also located near Crandon Beach which has a great kids playground with water games, a wooden horse carousel and more.

If you stay in Miami Lars, take the kids to the Miami Childrens Museum. In July, its an airconditioned haven for the little ones. Ask Pierre (okidoki) about it. Sharon and him took their daughter there when he was in Miami last year and it was a big hit.

Looks like a fun time will be had by the family :)

Man, my parents never took me to kid-oriented hotels. I just had to sit still and be nice and not get fingerprints on things.

Loews all the way, great hotel, nice location, and family friendly.

I say go with Lowes......The Delano is in a good location too.....you can also put them up at the country club at the diplomat, which is completley separated from the venue.

Personally, I wouldn't go with the National.....I would also check into the Marriott on the beach too.

Muffin 06-30-2005 12:37 PM

Other than SB.....is the Marriott Harbor beach which is in Fort Lauderdale. Food, spa, beach, food and pool on premises. There is a new hotel on Fort Lauderdale beach called the Atlantic....but I think it is overpriced......Sperbs is right about the fountinbleu, but the location is a bit removed....

Give me a few to muddle on this!

You can always stay at resort Babin......no real food service.....but there is a barbeque facility!
