Eminent domain is an old established law that allows seizures of property for the "greater good of the public". What's new is that the SC just ruled that any private entity able to derive more income from a piece of property is the "greater good of the public".

Actually most of the houses in the supreme court case were in fact nice and in a nice neighborhood. If your town think they'll get more property tax from a busines than your house they will take your house, PERIOD.

What good is a casino without a strip joint attached?

That doesn't really help. A couple years ago they tried declaring properties in a nicer suburb near Cleveland blighted for private development; by the city's own standards, each and every house in the entire city including the mayor's was "blighted".

Most strip joints don't have hotels, shopping and restaurants involved. Remember, the ruling calls for it to enhance a depressed area, a strip joint alone wouldn't meet the critera. Besides, Republicans approve of gambling, not sex, you have to work within the system :upsidedow.
