I think the policies recently changed... I am transferring a domain to someone from directnic to dotster and it's been a week now. First I had to approve with directnic, and then wait 4-5 days, now I approved with dotster and have to wait another few days. It used to be a 2-3 day process.

you bought the domain that was reg at goddady and trying to transfer it to another registrar?

why didn't you open an account at godaddy, then you get the domain in less than an hour?

i use directnic, i like to keep all my domains in the same registrar, less stuff to keep track of.

You (or GoDaddy account owner) can login to the GoDaddy account and approve it, then it transfers right away. I just transferred two to eNom in less than a day.

should take less then 10 mins

I don't like domain transfers. It seems like something or someone always holds things up.

Call godaddy. They will help you.

Whatever you do, at Godaddy to not change the whois info on the domain... any changes will lock your domain into godaddy for 60 more days... They suck! They do this shit because they know that most sold domains, are domains usually expiring, then the customer changes the info to theirs after acquiring, then locks it in so they get the renewal fee's..
