Who watched the Presidents speech

The speech was delivered to raise waning support for the conflict in Iraq. I seriously doubt the speech will significantly raise support...in fact I think it was probably a dud.

What do you think?

nofx 06-28-2005 09:18 PM

what I got from it:

"we are gunna invade other countries now"

He rehashed reasons for going to war only this time there was 0 mention of Iraq being a threat to the US. He also tried to tie Iraq in with the War on Terror and rehashed the "Let's take the fight to them rather than fighting them here" bullshit.

No matter how many we kill over there, it only took 19 to make 9/11 happen. It will take less for a guy with a suitcase nuke or a jar of smallpox or whatever else. It wouldn't take a team of 20 guys to set some charges on the hoover dam for ex. We are creating terrorists en masse where there were none before.

Bansheelinks 06-28-2005 10:25 PM

he can talk til the cows come home..........we all know he's full of shit.......especially on domestic policy............"my main duty is to protect the american people......."

Look, the fuckin' jerk off of a President that we have, who is neither a Statesman or a Diplomat, did the best he could to read his teleprompter, and then he still screwed that up.

I laughed my ass off as Dubya was flipping the pages on the podium as if he was actually reading them (although he never appeared to even glimpse at them).

At one point he glanced at the teleprompter and then turned the page the wrong direction. It would have been hilarious if someone tripped over the teleprompter cord after that and he actually had to act like what he was saying was something from his heart or that he was not just reading from a teleprompter.

George W. Bush is a total embarrassment to the American people, and an even greater insult to the brave men and women that have lost their lives in what they thought was a just fight to eliminate non-existent weapons of mass destruction.

Now Bush is fabricating new false excuses for the quagmire that his administration has mired us in, within the Middle East. People are growing tired of his lies - both here and abroad in Afghanistan and Iraq.

We need a new approach. We need to bring our troops home now. Most importantly we need new leadership. Bush, Rumsfeld, and their wailing chorus of idiot sycophants have done nothing but make the world a more dangerous place.

What do you think?

Waste of good TV time. They could have screened four more adds for chemotherapy pills, viagra and the news headlines - namely the top box office revenues last week.

But watching a chimp at the zoo was kinda entertaining.... it was almost human in the mannerisms..

Sadly we're too far in to just withdraw all troops right now. The biggest thing we need to do is create an exit strategy with a timeframe. There's no planning going on, just send in troops and see how it goes.

Goals generally don't work without a timeframe, and there's an old saying that if you fail to plan then you plan to fail.

It makes me wonder exactly who the hell would *want* to run for president next term...

pornguy 06-29-2005 12:20 AM

This guy has some more tricks up his sleeve that is going to really fuck up the entire world. Just watch.

Maybe you weren't catching my drift, we're arguing the same point basically.

Our middle-east policies are not/have not changed and we are breeding more terrorists that threaten a highter potential for much worse future 9/11' attacks. Even the CIA agrees on this.

I got you. I was agreeing and elaborating. Sorry to have not made that clear.

There is a stated exit strategy and there is a stated time frame. The stated exit strategy is to train and equip enough Iraqi forces to be capable of their own securtiy and the time frame is to stay until this goal is accomplished.
