Someone told me that the Westin will be restricting access for people who don't have rooms there. This doesn't seem true. I will probably stay somewhere else at least part of the time so that I can visit my grandmother (she lives in a different town). Will this be an issue? |

I sure do want to go. I have too much going on in August already.

The Vegas Internext floor show and seminars were very disappointing in January. The passes were a major waste of money. |

LOL!!! I love TRIXIE RACER! |
Q - Do I have to give you my real name? I don't want it to appear on my badge.
A - We require your real first and last name for identification purposes. Please put the name you would like to appear on the badge in the Handle field of the registration form. -------------- I did not attend the January Vegas AVN because of how AVN handled the previous show (January 2004 Vegas). At this show they required that models have their real name and stage name on their badges. After a lot of arguing I received a Trixie Racer badge, but I was the last model to get one without a second name. Considering that we are not even allowed onto Hotel property or into our own rooms without a badge, this is a dealmaker or dealbreaker. :warning Before I book the Westin and my flight, I want to receive a written guarantee by an AVN rep that models' real names will NOT be made public. |
God I hate that hotel

It's been my experience that they'll sell off your email information, and may print your real name on the pass- You may as well stay at home- The way they look at people like you , they could care less if you come or not- U have no traffic ( no offense) and you'll never advertise in their magazine- therefore what do they care if you don't go? |
Quote:
If people like her DON'T go, the big sponsors will simply stop shelling out big bucks for booths etc, so eventually the cash cow would dry up. I think anyone with half a brain knows that, so I'd HOPE AVN knows people like her are important. |
Los Panchos ROCKED!! Thanks again Trixie. :)
|
Don't tell them you're a model. In 6+ years I've never had my real name on a show badge.

With or without Trixie- I had some discussions with people in Phoenix and SD and I truly believe this will be one of the last big tradeshows for AVN- That's my opinion- but I am usually in touch with what webmasters are thinking-and I think I am on the money here- This is also a big reason you see the desperate and shameless promotional sponsorships being sold at this show in the form of sponsoring toilet paper , match books, and tampon dispensers... The no booth, smaller conventions are the way of the future and Lensman, CC BILL, and YNOT have this area sewn up |

I refuse to leave the show unless I've got some tampons sponsored by a porn company. |

If someone pays for a badge, why do they even need identification? Why can't I pay at the event with a Trixie Racer credit card and be done with it? Why do they gather so much additional information? What will be done with my information later? I will not be booking Florida Internext until AFTER someone from AVN publically resolves this! |

Also don't let ANYONE scan your badge and you usually won't get a bunch of crap. I rarely get info unless I've given a business card and requested it. |
It's interesting to see what is happening to the shows, several years ago people only went to the big 2... and now it's becoming the other way around.
I still beleive there is a shitload of info to share at the big shows. And a lot more business is conducted at the internext shows as well. KB you really think this could be one of the last ones? |
Besides the Topbucks party on Friday night, there's no party scene after 8:00 pm.
What the hell will people do at night? :pimp |

If not, I'll just sit on the patio and drink beer. Or I'll clear out the hottub when I go in naked. |

My bet is that there will be 6 gay parties and Topbucks.com will be the party of the INternext |
Just seems strange that the smaller trade shows these days have a better party schedule then the big trade thrown by AVN. Even if people are doing last second parties, Cybernet had way less attendees but way more organized parties.
Why do you think they barely have parties? Just seems strange. Internext used to be nothing but parties, which is the main reason I used to attend. Now you can walk into the bathroom and see someones name on toilet paper. I guess that's a reason to go this year. |
maybe Brad Shaw will throw a Cristal party?

So much seems to ahve changed. I had a great time last year, but most of my "great time" comes from being around people I like and admire. I learn a great deal that way.
I haven't the faintest clue as to why everything got a sudden upheaval. I do know that Vegas wasn't as fun as it was purported to be, and I honestly have only one reason for wanting to attend Florida's show, and that's the fact that I'd be seeing some good friends in the process. What gives? The smaller shows like Cybernet and the Webmaster Access shows are not only informative, they let me network with just about everyone. THAT'S where it's at, the networking and good seminars. I had a ball at Cybernet and learned some interesting stuff at the same time, stuff that I'm putting into practice. :) AVN, comments? |
Let's see if this sounds off the AVN b tracker
ALY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I'm here! I'm here! Just give me a sec to answer all these questions, although I appreciate you jumping in and helping out DMoney... :winkwink:

I'm seriously considering getting a room at another hotel, just in case this becomes an issue. It would be a bummer to have my room reserved and then there to be a problem with my badge. And without a badge I cannot go to my room. So, if I stay somewhere else that won't be a issue no matter what. The main purpose of this trip is to visit my grandmother; the show is just gravy... :2 cents:

Trixie. I am getting mail sent to my house under my real name. When I am at the show, my badge says 'Raven' Or 'Bitch', depending on my mood.
I don't like it that I get mail at my house from anyone in the adult industry, other than those who send me checks. And, even then, the envelopes are addressed to my corporate entity. I am not at all comfortable, living where I live, receiving mail that my postal worker gets to see.....and Aly and I have had this discussion many times....which is why I no longer receive AVN and I happen to like the mag....so this is not a knock AT ALL from Klixxx.....this is a personal statement from ME. Because the mag envelope has 'sexually oriented material' on the mailer envelope, I had to stop delivery. Because I have to give my real name to register, I now receive mail from Internext and AVN in my real name, not my company name and it's a postcard, too. It tells EVERYONE what they are about and what type of trade show it is. And, no. I don't like it. BUT. Never have I had to have my real name on my badge and I've attended many Internext shows. |

:offtopic Raven, I checked out your blog. Very cool. You are a smart lady! :thumbsup |
"Trixie Racer" on the badge: I can't speak for AVN's previous show regulations, but my personal exoperience has always been that I had to register with my real name but had a place to specify a 'handle'. The past aside, this summer you will NOT be required to have you real name on your badge. Email me [email protected] and I'll give you a means to contact me personally at the show if you have any trouble with that.
"AVN doesn't care about you": To quote the brilliant and verbose Sandra Bernhard - "Without you, I'm nothing." Anyone in this industry who doesn't get that is a complete and utter idiot. AVN's an extremely successful company, so I have to assume they're not complete and utter idiots as well. :winkwink: Admittance to the resort/ event: Admittance to the Diplomat Resort will be limited to people with badges (or special wristbands at night). You can stay wherever you want; you are NOT required to get a room at the Diplomat in order to enter the event, you just need an Internext badge. Parties: Of course there will be lots of parties at the show; they're just not listed yet. I'll go yell at someone, but I don't think all the party hosts have finalized their events yet. What have I missed? :upsidedow |
