I think the vote is in and GFYStats.com would be a nice addition to the board. I realize that the reason why sites that spider GFY often are blocked.....but this site spiders at obscure times and could be once a day or week.....

Last I heard, Lens was atleast a little interested but was busy with 2257....the 23rd has come and gone...how about some GFYStats.com love? :thumbsup

We stopped the cron from spidering because GFY doesnt want sites spidering them and we wanted to comply while awaiting approval....

We did program it....its 100% ready to go. The Cron just has to be turned back on....but Lens has been pretty busy with 2257. Been trying to schedule a talk with him to see if we can finally get this going now that june 23rd has come and gone.....thought i'd try the board to see if he was awake

#3 Help out the sig market....we have some useful stats such as views per thread started, posts per week, posts per month.....stuff that really could help out to figure a more accurate value of people's sig space

Allthough, i doubt most "businessmen/women" would use this, sigwhores arent exactly the draw for us here.

there are a few vb stats packages that can be added to the existing board.... it pulls from the existing database and requires no spidering what-so-ever... much less a separate domain name.

In fact, I even wrote a custom stats package for another adult board.

So if GFY was ever to go the stats route, I'd think that would be the way to do it.

VBulliten has a built in stats program that works very good we dont need a differnt site for it

Set up replication to a separate server 'stats.gfy.com' - that way there's no load on the main server and people can beat the shit out of that server. Also a good solution for search 'search.gfy.com'..

I dont think its such a bad idea... Very clean graphics.. At the very least lens should hire you to redo the top. I like the gfy lady and all , but she is a bit pixely.

I think lens wont want it just because he doesnt have 100% control over it.

And whoever told me to get a clue or whatever. Do a search, lens expressed an interest. The final version would in all likelyhood be done directly from the MYSQL database instead of spidering and probably would be a sub-domain......But there is a voiced interest from webmasters who contribute to GFY AND GFY themselves....

We have come up with plenty of very unique ideas on our own....This was something I had made by my team ...on my dime....just as a fun contribution to the board. Some people would dismiss it but others would probably have fun checking it out everyonce in a while just for the hell of it. Nothing more, nothing less :2 cents:
