What is it with people who use Windows ME?
 

My neighbor who is a mormon asks me for computer help. Seems one of his mormon roommates surfs porn and got the computer infected with all kinds of shit. Basically you can't click something without a trojan or virus closing your program and then trying to dial pornsites or connect to them via DSL (which he doesn't have).

So he is using a 36K modem, Windows ME and thinks AOL IS THE INTERNET.

He has ZERO virus protection or firewalls up. He hasn't run windows update for 3 years. He is basically clueless about anything and everything.

How come everyone who I meet or help out that uses Windows ME is a complete asshat and has no idea of what the fuck they are doing?

WinME fucking sucks. I hate that fucking OS. Some people just have no clue.

Just have them upgrade to XP

Upgraded them to XP and showed them how it would only cost $15 more a month to get DSL and keep AOL for their email since they are to clueless to use anything else...

The guy who was surfing porn was pretty damn embarrased.. hehe... I think he is on his way out of the house.

I have to admit, my oldest running desktop that I store some files on and still use to scan documents into is a Windows Me system. It still works pretty reliably for me. I even managed to get it to network with my two newer Win XP systems. But it wasn't easy I tell you. Good thing there is so much good info available thru a Google search!

i used ME for about 3 hours before i got rid of it lol

I am writing this from a ME laptop...never had a spyware or virus problem because I know how to use a computer.
My other PC is a Win2K desktop. XP is just a bunch of fucking bloat and eye-candy.

win ME is for retards, thats why retards use them

they're stuck in the internet ice-age. xp is soooo much easier to use for newbies.

Last weekend I upgraded one of my parents two computers from Windows 95 to Windows XP because dad finally thought he could handle the transfer on the computer he uses for accounting.... damn man, good luck with that.
