Tomorrow's Blog Entry= Quiet Time, Quiet Life: Donny on Being a Pornographer
 

I've written my blog entry for tomorrow but it's not yet posted. Here it is:

I realize that Hollywood paints the typical pornographer as some leopard skin wearing weirdo with sick fantasies who can never get enough sex. I'm sure there are some pornographers who fit that bill. I'm not one of them.

I'd love to tell you that I live a tormented life. That I have many personal demons that must be dealt with. That sounds so... artistic. But the truth of the matter is that I live a pretty happy life. I'm at peace with myself and pretty much have been for as long as I can remember.

Sure, there are things that bother me. Religion bothers me. I was raised in it. If you'd like to learn more about that read my interview with Luke Ford. There are things that bother me about the "adult" industry, too, as you know if you've read this entry.

But I enjoy life. Even moreso since the birth of my son in 1999. Life through the eyes of a child is amazing and wonderful. It makes everything else seem so unimportant. Any decent parents out there know what I mean. I enjoy walks in the park, pushing my son on a swing, taking him to zoos.

As for personal "alone" time... I enjoy quiet. I often drive alone without a radio on, or when does happen to be on I'm listening to something soft like Elton John or Phil Collins.

Right now, as I write this, I'm sitting alone in my house. My fiance is on the coast visiting her mother. I have no music on. No TV on. I'm just chillin' in the living room surfing the internet on my laptop. Earlier today I was at Barnes and Noble doing a bit of reading.

This is what I do to relax. Call me boring, but I love my life. And you know what? The friends I've met over the years have shown me that there are a lot of pornographers out there who live a life almost identical to my own. For some of us it really is "just a business".
