How many people here were BBS users and remember Trade Wars 2002 and other doors?

That door kicked ass.. I remember waiting my next turns at midnight and re-dialing like crazy with my external GVC 2400 bauds modem.

I also remember an adult door called "STUDS" where you were a pimp. :1orglaugh

The other door I remember was "GLOBAL WAR" (Online version of Risk). That one was really fun to play also.

WWIV boards ruled back then..

But in Montreal I used to call on Saturn V, GameMaster BBS and Canis Major BBS.

Those were the days... When GT's really meant something.. :(

Awe dude, I remember that stuff, Thats where it all began for me... Dialing in to some dudes computer with the 9600 baud modem and playing games, and trying to download programs with xmodem and stuff...

wow, how far we have come...

ha ha ha

i had a 300 baud modem ,,,beat that

Tom_PM 06-25-2005 06:01 PM

Yeah I grew up from 300 baud also. Still have my XT (that I souped up with an NEC V20 chip) with telix installed.. vintage!
I even wrote a game that was very much like Operation Overkill. I stopped messing with it when 9600 baud came out, so it doesnt have support above 4800 baud, lmao.

I spent a lot of time playing VGA Planets. It wasn't a doorway game but I played by email over a bbs.

Yeah, I started with a 1200 bauds. So I guess it was a couple of years after you. I remember when the first Sysop stopped my BBS "browsing" session and entered in a chat with me, I got scared and turned my computer off (My Amiga 500). :1orglaugh

warlock5 06-25-2005 06:48 PM

MrJackMeHoff 06-25-2005 07:37 PM

I use to run a 3 node board with Syncronet Software. It was very popular actualy.. That shit was more fun then todays crap.. And yes I remember L.O.R.D. especially cause the guy was a bbs friend of mine we used Syncronet to test it.
