Would links and posts etc.. in MSN, Yahoo and Google groups go towards domain popularity and link popularity???

Are the links proper backlinks? Will posting in these groups help your sites pages being indexed in search engines??

Whats the benefit of starting these groups interms of SE.

Looking in to this for the first time.

I've found that it helps a little bit as long as you don't link back to them on your sites. it seems like you get more se power when you have sites linking to you that you don't link back to. but just my :2 cents: i'm not an expert seo

not much at all.......in fact, barely any.....

Its a waste of effort. Your time is better spent on other things.

Yahoo is good for direct traffic not seo since the group links area don't allow anchor text links.
