Good idea for a software program :::::
 

All you software developers....I've been searching for a piece of software that'll do this but haven't yet been able to find one. If you can write one, you'd probably do very well with it...and I would be your first customer.

I'm looking for a picture downloader. When I plug my CompactFlash card into the CF reader, I want the program to automatically launch. The window comes up and allows me to select the drive & folder that I want to download the images to. It also allows me to rename the pics while they are downloading. It would also allow me to download images to "up to 3 different drives at the same time". I know a lot of photogs are very anal about backing up their images and having the ability to download images to different drives at the same time would be very sweeeeet!

Everytime I plug my CF card into the reader, I would like to program to allow me to manually set the folder name for each download or to have the program assign the folder name in seq. order: Folder 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc..etc..etc.

If anyone is aware of a software program like this, lemme' know :thumbsup

Forgot to mention....it would also be nice if after the images on the card have finished downloading, that program would automatically launch whatever image browser that I set it up to launch...in my case ThumbsPlus 7.

I would be willing to pay $20 to $30 bucks for it from a retailer. I have no interest in having someone design this software especially for me. This is a piece of software that any serious shooter would love to have and use on a daily basis and I'm sure would be a lot of interest a piece of software like this. Someone could take this idea for a downloader and run with it and do pretty well....I think.
