I'm picking Mayweather. Gatti always puts on one hell of a show though.

I doubt that I have ever seen anyone bleed more than Gatti - he should be the Red Cross Blood Drive poster boy..."Give Until It Hurts, Then Give Some More".

Should be a great fight.

I dont like him, but I'm picking Mayweather. I would be more pleased if Gatti knocks him the fuck out, but I think it is a dec.

xclusive 06-24-2005 04:11 PM

mayweather in a decision

xxxdesign-net 06-24-2005 04:11 PM

Gattttiiiiiiiiii... He'll be MUCH heavier than Floyd... Floyd won all his big fights against 130-135 pounders.... and wouldnt have last 5 rounds against De la Hoya...

SetTheWorldonFire 06-24-2005 04:12 PM

taibo 06-24-2005 04:13 PM

im picking gatti in a decision .. i dont think he has enough power to knock out mayweather

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 06-24-2005 04:20 PM

Gatti won this fight:

Even when he wins he takes a hellascious beating:

Mayweather will wear him down and then take him down or win by a decision if Gatti may weather the beating.

Gatti is a person that can take lots of punches ..mikey Ward was not a power puncher.. Mayweather has lots of power. It will be interesting to see..but I say that Gatti does not have what it take s to beat Mayweather

The Gatti-Ward fights were among the best trio of fights ever, right up there with Hagler-Hearns, and Hearns-Leonard.

Don't know how many of you are old enough to remember the Ray Mancini vs. Duk Koo Kim fight, but that still ranks as one of the best non-stop action fights that I ever saw (1982 - it was the fight that ended 15 round boxing since unfortunately Kim died days after the fight from his injuries).

Kim died 5 days later on Nov. 18th from dmage to the Brain

Sports Illustraded had a photo on the cover named "Tragedy in the Ring"

Mickey Ward has possibly the best left hook to the body I've ever seen in the sport, but not a lot else of note. If he lands that liver shot you're done though, I don't care who you are.

Gatti lost to Manfredy, who Mayweather chopped to pieces easily. He got the championship by beating some italian guy nobody ever heard of and was allowed to skip tough fights (against Kostya and the other legitimate champions). He's an exciting fighter but nowhere near PBF skill-wise. His main chance is that he's so much bigger than PBF who it seems will end up moving to heavyweight before he finds someone who can beat him. He's fighting way out of his weight class in an apparent attempt to challenge himself.

If lightning strikes and Gatti somehow lands a couple big left hooks flush he has a chance, but I don't see it as a very big one. PBF is a 5-1 favorite and if I were going to bet the milk money I would bet on him. I don't see Arturo winning this fight but in boxing you never know. I thought Mike Tyson's corpse could whip that Irish guy and look what happened there.

most exciting fights I ever saw were Barrera-Morales 1 and 3. Every bit as intense as Gatti-Ward but conducted on a much MUCH higher skill level.

I met Ray Mancini at a BJJ tournament, he trains pretty heavy and shows up at most of the big socal tournaments. It was pretty funny, I mentioned that I watched several of his fights and he launched into this long explanation of why he lost to Livingstone Bramble. I felt like telling him to relax, I'm a fan, not a journalist. Hell of a nice guy and he'll sit right down and talk boxing with you all day long if you give him a chance. Looks good, speaks clearly, seems to have gotten out with all his marbles still in his head.

Mayweather by a mile, and I love Gatti so it pains me to say it. Wish more fighters had his heart. But Mayweather is in another class of speed and ability to move, he makes either Ward or Gatti look like they're wearing cement shoes. Will be very similar to last week's fight, with Mayweather playing the jabbing/moving Antonio Tarver role.

Mayweather by decision, and it won't be close: Official Boneprone LOCK of the weekend! :)

Gatti is not the same boxer at all.. improved alot.. stopped partying and abusing alchool.. got new trainer, etc...

As for maywheater.. except for castillo.. he only won against 130 pounders...

he moves around now but he doesn't move like Floyd. Also, as soon he gets whacked good and hard he goes into insane brawler mode, he can't help it.

As for PBF and 130 lb division, this is true, but look at who those 130 lb guys were - Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo TWICE, either of who I'd choose over Gatti to be honest at any weight.

Also he beat D. Corley at 135, who is no joke even if he does wear panties under his trunks. He almost KTFO Miguel Cotto.

IMHO PBF still belongs at lightweight, but he's crazy good and he just likes making it tough on himself by fighting bigger guys. He'll pay for it one of these days but I don't it will be this Saturday.

I think Cotto is overrated and you have to admit.. Corley kinda got lucky against him...

I thought he was too until his last fight, Abdullaev is 100% no question a tough, tough motherfucker and Cotto wiped his ass with him. Cotto is for real.

Now I think Corley is underrated instead.

gatti is 33 with quite a few wars on his resume', the kind that shorten careers. he's never been the most skilled boxer, relying on heart and a big punch. mayweather might be the best p4p boxer in the world and he's smack dab in the middle of his prime.

mayweather by domination

sickkittens 06-24-2005 06:12 PM

Should be a good fight, they both hate each other.

Vitasoy 06-24-2005 06:34 PM

I think Floyd is going to win

I think the over 11.5 @-140 is a solid play. The only way this one stays inside the distance is if there is a headbut or some sort of DQ.

Danny Dukes 06-25-2005 04:24 AM

Gatti is a totally different person and fighter since Buddy McGirt has become his trainer, he's also a harder puncher and has a helluva lot more heart then Mayweather! Gatti will be schooling Mayweather tomorrow night and will punish him as promised by Gatti. I say Gatti knocks Mayweather out in the 10th. There on Gattis turf and he will have tons of back up there!
