One Scary Thing About FSC memberships

1st off, this is not meant to bash the FSC in anyway. I 100% support what they are doing and I am extremly appreicative of it all.

BUT...

I called today to make sure they've recieved my paperwork I faxed in a couple days ago, and I was told there is no way that they could look that up for me. I was then told I should recieve a confirmation letter in 7-10 business days.

10 Days from when I filed is going to damn close to the 29th

What happens if there is a mishap with the paperwork, and my company isn't protected....

That would really suck!

For as much money that is being given to them, one would think they would hire some staff to take care of all this. I have read all over the boards of people who can not get through to them or in the same boat as you.

I hope they sort it out before they hand over the "master list" on the 29th.

Well I can understand where they are coming from. I can imagine they've got thousands of them coming in the last couple days.

None the less though, it's still scary not knowing.

The response has been overwhelming. We have had all circuits busy constantly. The fax never stopped all day. We have made arrangements for a phone bank. Therefore,
FSC is pleased to announce that all membership and litigation contributions can be processed over the telephone as of 6:00 am Pacific Time Friday morning, June 24, 2005, through 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 25, 2005. Call 800.681.0403. Credit cards will be processed over the telephone.

Good stuff. I'll call and hook it up then too. Better safe than sorry.

gleem 06-23-2005 06:14 PM

or you can spend a few hundred bucks and get an online processor and it would spare you alot of work.

So if we faxed it in yesterday, we still have to call?

ry0t 06-23-2005 06:16 PM

I guess you don't have your shit in order?

DWB 06-23-2005 06:37 PM

If I was near, I'd come in and help answer calls... but I'm not driving from Ohio. Sorry, but my support only goes so far.

LOL take of it what you will.

Have you noticed that everyone has spoke to an attorney and everyone has a different announcement of how they are compliant. Everyone has a legal opinion, but the problem is that it's just that .. a legal opinion.

This is strict liability. Even in good faith of compliance, you could legally get put in the pokey.

What happens to people who signed up earlier today or yesterday and were told it would take 10 days????

Love the effort at FSC and all. Just not sure they have the act together to do what is needed. :( Well in fact the industry doesn't really the act together on 2257. Many really try and spend big bucks. All appreciated. But in the end, we're all still fucked.

Do I get free dental in jail?

We will try to be sure that everyone is confirmed ASAP. Be sure to include your email in the membership application.

I sure wish someone would help me straighten up my account with you guys.

First, I made a contribution for $200 a couple weeks ago.

Then earlier today, I asked to be a member over the phone and gave a credit card number. I asked if it was possible to credit the $200 already paid and she said yes, but it was taking 7-10 days.

Now I am hearing I should call tomorrow and join again to be safe, putting me $1200 in to you guys so far.

Its a good cause and all, but damn....

I'd like to know this too. I want to call tomorrow either way to make sure I guess. I've never had good luck with people getting my faxes. Plus I need to know if both me and my partner are covered under the Corprate Internet Services yearly income fee. Or if it's just the company and we need the $50 coverage for each of us too?

Redrob 06-23-2005 07:32 PM

I would think that a corporate account would cover officers and employees of the corporation......

I am not a lawyer so I'll have to ask one.
