FSC: How much do I pay?
I'm a webmaster that owns a schedule C corporation which produces websites. Not sure if I fall under the "Corporate (Manufacturers, Distributors, Internet Services, Mail Order, Industry Support services)" definition or not.
Any FSC reps here who can answer this? |
If you go to the FSC's membership application page:
http://www.freespeechcoalition.com/application.php and click on the "individual" catagory radio button; you will see that an unincorporated webmaster's dues are $300 per year. If you are incorporated and click on the "corporate" radio button, then the dues are $300/per site for the corporation. |
FSC is pleased to announce that all membership and litigation contributions can be processed over the telephone as of 6:00 am Pacific Time Friday morning, June 24, 2005, through 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 25, 2005. Call 800.681.0403. Credit cards will be processed over the telephone.

We faxed our application with CC info earlier this week. When can I expect to get a confirmation? |

I imagine they will be mailed out starting next week. We are really being pushed through Saturday as you can imagine.
|
corporate fees are 2k if you make between 1 and 5 mil per year. At the bottom it says 300 per website. I don't have a clue what I'm supposed to be paying here.
|
$300 is going to be steep if you have a couple thousand domains
|
did Redrob disappear? Is he part of FSC?

You are lucky . . . about $90k here |
So I'm corporated, they want me to do $300 per site even though money wise I would fit into a different price if I went from that chart?

Anybody have a clue whether corp payments are supposed to be per paysite or by income level step right up and let us know. |

Man that is a bunch of money people are being slapped with.
|
Holy shit you two. Neither dig or cosis are failures, relax!
The site says $300 per site. They aren't exactly hip to our language or Internet terminology. I have over 300 sites and I paid $300. Dig, you can probably pay the $300 or the $2k corporate fee, I don't know which would be better for you or if it even matters. |

This page...
http://www.freespeechcoalition.com/application2.php shows something completely different as far as what the price is. Can anyone confirm the correct amount? |

I think I'm the winner. |
I'll reply to your last email in a couple minutes. I didn't forget you... twink.

If it was me, I'd pay the cheapest amount under corporate.
If $$ volume is $600,000, but I only have 10 sites, I'd pay the $1000.00 for corporate $$ volume rather than $3,000.00 (10 sites X $300). I'd then notify FSC next week and sort it out. They are reasonable people trying to do a hard job for an entire industry. You want your name on Saturday's list. Period. |

edit: I don't blame you for not understanding our confusion, given that you've never had to break your income level for anything except the application for your monthly welfare checks. To some of us, it makes a difference. |
