ATTN FSC: Free Speech Should Be FREE
 

Its not a matter of shelling out $300, its a matter of principal.

If you call yourself the Free Speech Coalition, wouldn't it make sense if you are free.

This is a bunch of bullshit, if you are fighting for our protection then great. I will glady donate money for the cause. But if you are only protecting those that have donated an $x amount of money then screw you.


Free Speech should be for all not those that can afford it or want to pay.

Unfortunately free speech isn't free. It costs money to defend our rights from those who seek to take them away.

That's why people donate money to the FSC, the ACLU, and other similar organizations every year.

There is a difference between dontating money to an organization that will fight for all agaisnt these regulations as opposed to protecting those that pay.

The DOJ will have a list of the FSC members and they wont be allowed to go near them.

Then when the grace period is over, guess what the DOJ has a list of and guess where your name is.

"Free speech" is actually short for freedom of speech... big difference in that and something that is "free" as in doesn't cost money. If you don't think "free speech" is expensive just ask the families of anyone killed while making it possible. :2 cents:

I have no problem with free speech, but I do have a problem with them only attempting to protect the people that paid. So actually it is paid speech.

The Free Speech Coalition is an adult industry trade group. They fight for the free speech rights of their members, which helps protect all Americans. Their focus is on defending companies who are members.

The ACLU is a civil rights group who fights for the rights of all Americans.

If you want to protect your business, join the FSC. If you are just interested in civil rights, join the ACLU.

If you're smart, join both.

How the hell are the members of the FSC going to be protected if the DOJ never gets to see the list? What if they go after someone on the list, if they can't see it, what's to stop them from sending their ass to jail?

Legal defense for your business has nothing to do with free speech. Do not use the shield that this issue revolves around your 1st amendment rights. This is about your money, that is what is bothering you here. Unfortunately to protect your bigger picture money, your smaller picture money needs to be used right now.

Look closer....no one else is out there trying to fight the DOJ except the FSC. NO ONE except Dave and New Beginnings and let me take a moment to thank them again for having the big brassy ones to be the named plaintiffs here.

Unless you have a grand plan to get new legal counsel (who I should also add is better than our current ones --good luck there ...try talking to your local chapter of Holland and Knight and I think you might even get a few 225..whats? ...and then and tell me how much your $2000 session with them helped), then you should just decide whether this money you spend is really that big of a deal.

For the record I too am suspicious of people claiming to want to help but wanting money. When rumor of a pending settlement hit last night I was definitely a skeptic. Now that I see details of this settlement I see that alot of care was taken to further the interests of a diverse group of adult industry folks and they are not giving up and selling out, well I am sold on the legitimacy and integrity of the FSC.

These people are fighting for our livelihoods and you are bitching about having to pay a fraction of a fraction of the cost of carrying on a full blown suit against the US Dept of Justice (also known as mr DEEPEST Pocket ever) and you are asking for support of your position? Get real man, your very confused here.
