Due to the large number of adult businesses that have waited to the last day to join FSC, all lines of communication with the national office are very, very busy.

I just spoke to Neva, the Free Speech Coalition's office manager. She told me that the fax line is constantly receiving faxes of memberships as fast as it can.

The office staff are taking phone calls as fast as they can.

And, the website, which is in transition to CCBill for membership processing, is not working as well as it should.

To make getting a membership easier, FSC is adding an additional phone number that will be staffed solely for taking memberships. This will be happening very soon and I will post the number on GFY as soon as it is available.

We will make every effort to accomodate everyone before the end of the day who wishes to join.

well let's hope joining after the deal is announced still protects people

So, what is the cut-off date for joining FSC and still being covered by the DOJ agreement that suspends 2257 implementation?

My gut feeling is that it is either 6/23 (the effective date of the regs) or possibly 6/16 (the date that the lawsuit was filed).

Latest word from Michelle Freridge, Executive Director, FSC:

Hi All,
FSC is experiencing an extremely high call and fax volume. Our fax and
phone lines are working, they are just very busy. People just need to keep
trying and be patient with us. Please encourage people to use the attached
forms or to get the form from the website. I am setting up a 24 hour call
center that will be able to accept a very high call volume, and
setting up the office to process the applications more quickly. We will
forward the 1-866-FSC-9373 number to the call center to process applications by phone.
I will let you know when the call center will start, ASAP. FSC will have office hours on Saturday and Sunday this weekend from 8 am - 5pm.

At this time FSC has no new information about the 2257 TRO. As soon as we
