Operating Systems Available

Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES (recommended OS)

Windows Server 2000 or 2003

These servers are great for free host companies, affiliate programs, SHOUTcast servers (that?s what they were used for), serving video files, start up web hosts and more.

If you want to start web hosting with Linux I have a control panel that allows you to manage all of your server basic needs, which include domain management, mail accounts, web server functions, traffic statistics, billing administration and more. The cost of this control panel is over $595 - yours free.

No contract? If the server or our service does not meet your expectations you are free to leave any time? Anthony

Why don't you learn how to spell first you illiterate moron?

Why is it every time someone posts his or her hosting offers you run your mouth?

Would you like it if others did that to you?

Keep going and this thread will be a lot of fun. I've got enough dirt on SplitInfinity to make this thread 10 pages long but I'm going to keep my mouth shut.

Try me though and you'll have a long day.

And no I have nothing to do with e5hosting.com. But you remind me of that guy that ran FoundryNap, always putting others down. You should focus on your business before you worry about others.

split_joel,

With all do respect?

Are you referring to cPanel?

Can cPanel manage any number of servers from one centralized location?

What type of file should I upload for you to test?

Anthony

beta-tester 06-22-2005 07:27 AM

Anthony, how much for one of these servers ?

Joel,

No offence taken by your remarks, but since you seemed to be calling me out lets have a little network challenge?

Lets both post the same exact file(s) say a 500MB or 1 GB file on our own server and let the GFY members test and decide who can deliver who is just talking. Now please understand you have me at a big disadvantage you have a great reputation and a rock sold network with hundreds of satisfied user.

What do say?

The two servers w/Intel Dual 3.06GHz Xeon and the router between them have been sold.

SplitInfinity 06-22-2005 10:32 AM

I have an oldskool motherboard I just bolted to a stick. Im going to spank you solder lead side down. That should sting good.

Yankee Scum,

Your connection is the bottle neck. If you have a shell account you could test the true speed of the servers. Note Window 2002/3 by default will throttle users to 10% of the total bandwidth? so from your shell account you should get about 10Mbps and if you really want to test the servers setup 10 shell accounts and simultaneously download x10 and will see the servers deliver 100Mbps. Please note the servers have a Dedicated 100Mbit Full Duplex Port this not very common in the hosting industry (I can not think any hosting companies offing this). Here is what Full Duplex is http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/f/full_duplex.html. When you have a Full Duplex on a 100Mbps server you can up and download 100Mbps of a total of 200Mbps.

And here?s the secret my hosting competition does not want you to know? Most sell you a 100Mbps server and give you a Half Duplex connection so you only get a 50Mbps up and download.

Key question to ask when shopping for a dedicated server is are you giving me a Full Duplex of a Half Duplex connection.

I if was to market the servers the way most of my competitors do then I would sell the as 200Mbps servers.

Anthony

SinisterStudios 06-23-2005 06:16 AM

So your giving a full duplex port and the server for that low price? Why does this sound too good to be true??? What kind of switch(s) are the servers attached to?

e5hosting 06-23-2005 06:55 AM

Vinne,

Cisco SFS 7000 Series InfiniBand Server Switches on Verio's Network. We handle the configuration and maintenance of the switch(s) at all times.

Anthony

beta-tester 06-23-2005 08:31 AM

can you upload something which is not so much compressed as txt file.
Try to upload some .zip file, or exe, or something...
and then we can test the speed.

e5hosting 06-23-2005 09:27 AM

Will do give me a few minutes...

e5hosting 06-23-2005 11:17 AM

As requested I have uploaded some more test files on each server. Just remember your connection will most likely be the bottle neck. So try to use a shell account.

I'm going for the day so just email me and I will get back to you tomorrow.

e5 is right. We do the same thing, you get 100Mbps FULL Duplex ports for every
dedicated server.

I'm just verifying that what he says is true.... there are alot of hosting companies
that sell you a half duplex lossy port. ;-( Im raising my hand to let you know that
we also sell the ports at 100mbps. If you anticipate going over that, we simply upgrade you to a gigabit fiber connection or copper gig e. :-)

e5hosting 06-28-2005 01:05 PM

Chris,

Thanks for keeping the bar high in the hosting arena.

Ycaza 06-28-2005 04:11 PM

ok, WILL THIRD THE 100 MEG PORT IDEAL. Applications can also limit your true speed. As long as nobody is thinkin of a 100Mbps server for 125 bucks, like someone esle that posted. sheeesh. Tryin to keep on network hacks for windows is gettin to be a full time job. it used to be easy. many applications will treat all users using that app as one user makin your 100 meg server a 10 meg server. That, however, is a forum onto itself. any hosting company needs more than verio (or more than 10 peers) hit me up on icq, trade biz is welcomed, routed and kept on the dl.

Cazually,

Are you sure Verio has only 10 peers last time i checked http://www.fixedorbit.com/AS/2/AS2914.htm Verio had 425 peers total. Just trying to keep the facts stright.

Here is what I came up with on your network http://www.fixedorbit.com/AS/29/AS29761.htm 5 peers. :)
