What 2257 statements are you waiting for?
Several sponsors have yet to say boo regarding 2257 and I'm getting a little ancy. To delete or not to delete...
Here are the ones I'm waiting for, add yours: Pimp Roll Nasty Dollars and BBO (supposedly will be announced soon) Adult Players Club (again, soon) Perfect Gonzo (hunch they won't make a statement period) |
I think a lot of people are not going to say anything until the 23rd. Until then, why jump the gun?

I've already dropped/deleted sponsors I haven't heard from yet
I'm not going to wait until the 23rd for them to finally decide what they are going to do....they can hang their own asses out there, but I won't hang mine out...I've found plenty of sponsors that have policies I can live with and make money with without worrying about it... |

I'm looking forward to ND statement cause they have a TON of content and webmasters. I've always been a HUGE fan of ND ... their tours have 18+ pages of girls, they are a top sponsor in my eyes. |

I don't think PG will make a statement, or at least one that I and other affiliates will like (haha), because from what I understand a good chunk, if not all, of their business is outside of the United States. On top of that, their girls are European, from what I understand there are European privacy laws that will not allow them to release IDs. Now many will say "use softcore content"... ok, how exactly do I promote a cum swapping site with softcore content? Sure it can be done, but not efficiently... |

Did Silver Cash, TCG or Triple X Cash ever release theirs?
These sponsors are really putting us affiliates in a bind by waiting so long to announce. |

PimpRoll will have a system in place to address US and Non-US webmasters concerns.
New promo materials will be out shortly, and free content if you really need it. Check on pimprollers message board over the next couple of days for any updates and final plans. |
A lot of affiliate programs have not made statements and at this point even if they do its going to be difficult to get everything in order. Time is running out and for me personally if I don't have answers by the end of today I'm going to start deleting content from my server and close up certain affiliate accounts. I know how much work this is for affiliate programs but affiliates need to be in the loop also.

here's ours (for now):
As many of you are aware, the record keeping and inspection requirements of the Child Protection and Obscenity Enforcement Act of 1988, 18 U.S.C. § 2257 et seq. (as amended) were recently amended by the Department of Justice. The amended regulations, which take effect on June 23, 2005, include a number of significant changes from the current regulations. Compliance with the amended requirements is likely to prove both complicated and expensive for providers of adult content. Many customers have inquired about the impact the amended regulations will have on Webair. Webair does not maintain records under the current § 2257 regulations because, as an Internet Service Provider, Webair does not believe it falls within the definition of a ?producer? of adult content for the purposes of § 2257. The amended regulations include two new sections, CFR part 75 (c)(4)(iv) and (v), that specifically relate to providers of hosting and electronic communication services. As Webair interprets them, the new sections do not impose any new obligations on hosting providers. As amended, CFR part 75 (c)(4)(iv) provides that ?[p]roducer does not include persons whose activities relating to the visual depiction of actual sexually explicit conduct are limited to the following: . .[a] provider of web-hosting services who does not, and reasonably cannot, manage the sexually explicit content of the computer site or service?. CFR part 75 (c)(4)(v) similarly excludes ?[a] provider of an electronic communication service or remote computing service who does not, and reasonably cannot, manage the sexually explicit content of the computer site or service.? In adopting these sections, the DOJ noted: Twenty-four commenters commented that the exclusion of providers of web-hosting services who do not manage the content of the site or service is vague and may be under-inclusive because some services manage or control certain website content, e.g., advertisements, but not the sexually explicit content. According to the commenters, it is similarly unclear whether editing content only for copyright infringement purposes would constitute control of content. The Department adopts this comment. The exclusion of providers of web- hosting services who reasonably cannot manage the content of the site will be clarified to exclude providers of web-hosting services who reasonably cannot manage the sexually explicit content of the site (for either technical or contractual reasons). For both technical and contractual reasons, Webair does not, and reasonably cannot, manage the sexually explicit content that its clients place on its servers. Accordingly, Webair does not anticipate any change in its day-to-day operations as a result of the amended regulations. |

On a different note, I am sure there are not many sponsors out there - day by day, week by week - shooting more exclusive video scenes these days than us. ND & Bangbros possibly being the only exceptions. Assuming we don't have our own records under control is just ridiculous. Quote:
For PG, nothing has changed. Wish to use hardcore content, go ahead. Wish to use softcore content, be our guest. Don't wish to use our content at all? No problem. There are many options out there. |
